lolol Jan........ that is a lovely collection! I have to stop buying craft stuff for abit now.... I have to start buying stuff for the garden.....

Better start doing the lottery, lolol!!

I have almost finished the first page, which is looking good.... and stuck down the layers of the second... just need to decide which embellishments to use, now.

I don't have any flowers the right colour... loads of brads though, and buttons... and also some ribbon... and the theme is doing up buttons, so it is circular.. even her pyjamas have circles on them... It took me ages to get the circles just right.

And I have printed off the photos for the next two pages... a double spread.... Granny's first cuddle... or pleased to meet you, lol My first cuddles after the Littlie's were born... I found the video footage yesterday of Littlest Littlie... and have done masses of snapshots, so loads to choose from! I knew where the other photos were, of Bigger Littlie, so have printed loads of those as well... and have a selection of papers sorted out... but not too sure about them, they are not traditional baby papers, but very sweet, girly and gentle.

Oh...and I have a Mother's Day card half done, as well..... I used some of the scrap bits from these two pages plus some freebie stuff... I scanned it in, then cropped the flowers, and printed them off. Used them as templates, and have cut them out in card, and it looks scrummy so far!! I am eyeing up the glitter!!

Oh... I want to use brads to hold the ribbon and flowers on.... do I just stick a pretty co-ordinating sheet of paper on the inside to cover up the posts?

I always put an insert inside my cards when I use brads Daff as i don't feel happy with the posts showing.

MrDaff Report 9 Mar 2010 16:06

Thanks Ginnie.... I thought it would be better....

Now comes the numpty question..... how do you stop the card from falling over cos it is *front heavy*? lolo... I am eyeing up little bits of stuff to glue to the back to balance it... just in case, you know? lolol

Sorry Daff I don't think I have had that problem, have you used a lightweight card if so could you use a heavier card as the insert?
( I might not know what I'm talking about though lolol)
Perhaps one of the other ladies might be more help.

Lolol Ginnie...it is just me, and my penchant for going OTT, lol...... I am wanting to throw so much bling at this poor card, that it will never be able to stand on it's own two feet.... I think I shall just have to practice restraint... mmmmm!! lolol

I saw what happened to Littlie's card for mummy, with all the twigs (tree trunk size, some of them, she takes after granny!!) leaves, bits of pasta and such like... it wouldn't stand up, just kept keeling over, lolol I have visions of this card doing the same if I don't cull someof the stuff I want to throw at it, lol ;¬))

It will probably be OK Daff. Sometimes I hide the posts sometimes I don't there is no hard and fast rule. I suppose you could stick another piece of card on the back of the card to balance it if you do have a problem, make sure it is the exact size of the card though.

Wow! Guess what
Ive made my first ever card :-))))))))))))))))
Yesterday as I was browsing I found a free decoupage paper that I quite liked so printed it out - today I cut all the bits out and hey presto - my cutting took ages and isnt perfect but for a first go Im really pleased. I added my own touch by stamping out a couple of simple flowers added some sparkles to the middle - its now drying in the dining room but i keep popping back to admire it :-))
am soooooo chuffed

Well done Jan, this hobby grows on you doesn't it? I am trying to do a scrap book page of our visit to the snowdrops at Batsford arboretum last week but keep coming back on here because I am not really in the mood.

Lol Jan..... great fun, isn't it?

Ann, me too.... just can't get motivated.... and Hermie is a bit clingy today, as well, so is getting on my nerves climbing all over the pages.... he wants to sleep with his head in my hand, which shows that something has unsettled him. Which means my right hand... then a little paw reaches out to tap and play with anything in reach... I scold, he leaps up and runs off, Jethro leaps on and paddles across everything to see what's wrong..... *sigh*

So I ate some chocolate instead *blushes*

MrDaff Report 10 Mar 2010 16:19

I have silicone glue.... not sure how to use it, but it seemed like a good idea when I bought it...... lol!

I think I might go and loll on the sofa for an hour, with some magazines, I just can't settle to any one thing today.....

Jan foam pads are fine, silicone glue is OK if you intend doing a lot but I found I would do a couple, then leave it a while then when I wanted to do another one the glue had gone hard. Maybe somebody else has tips on how to keep it.

Daff I am fairly enthused but have had a good connection on one of the favourite branches of my tree, Our great Grandfathers were brothers so we are third cousins (I think), I thought I had found all the connections I was going to find with that family so it is great.

Jan, I think most card is suitable for stamping, not sure about pro markers, are they like brush markers? If so I would imagine any card there too.

MrDaff Report 10 Mar 2010 16:30

Oooh Ann, that is exciting!!

I can understand why you are up your tree, then, lol!!

I am definitely off to loll for a bit now..... I had to turn the heating on, as it was cold in there.... it is lovely in here, so I hadn't realised how cold it was in the living room, lol

I am ashamed to admit we are wimps and turned our heating on at 1.30 because we were cold. However the sun is now out and I ought to turn the thermostat down but it is downstairs and we are both upstairs and lazy!!!!

Scatty Report 10 Mar 2010 16:58

crosses silicone glue off me list lol
and to be honest the foam pads have worked wonders.

Im not sure about these promarkers I think I read the card has to be 300 something or other else the colours bleed (wish I had paid more attention I cant find it again lol)
I think its freezing today

JustJean Report 10 Mar 2010 17:57

Hi I have the promarkers, but havent used them yet I have just googled them and loads of tutorials have come up. looks great when done but you have to be aware they bleed so you need a paper underneath to protect the table, best thing is to have a look, I got them off create and craft, but I saw that you can get discounted ones so maybe cheaper, I look forward to hearing how Sarah finds them.... btw. I have bought from P*****rs two very large cake boxes see through plastic, they are great for storing all the craft stuff, easy to see what you have and not have to empty boxes to try and find what you want, In fact I am going to get a couple more....
