Afraid I have no personal experience with promarkers, I have friends who use the Copics (similar type of thing) but my colouring in is limited to regular pens and some watercolour pencils. I'd advise trying them on what you do have with something to protect the surface underneath. Will have a look and see if I can find anything useful for you though.

I've been off the crafting for a couple of days because OH has given me his cold and it has gone straight to my sinuses - again! Have hardly been able to hold my head up but am determined that I am going to be well tomorrow because I'm going out to a craft show at Malvern. Doesn't look to be too big but have booked a cardmaking class so should be interesting.
And I have signed up for an online scrapbooking class designed to encourage the using up of all those things we we crafters just have to buy. The first prompt arrived yesterday and has already got ideas going shame I've not been up to following through with them.

OK I've found some info on the UK Scrappers site that might help. Apparently there is card available from major high street stationers that is recommended it's 200g weight and slightly coated (whatever that means). If you want the link to the info on Uk Scrappers let me know

Apparently the important thing is to get a very smooth cardstock, hence the coating I suppose. You also need to be careful what you are colouring doesn't bleed. Some ink pads used for stamping will bleed because the ink in the promarkers is alcohol based the most receommended ink pad seems to be Momento

I have just made four cards for the CRUK shop, have a couple more envelopes so maybe will make two more, at least it uses up a bit of stash.

Ive been watching some idea/colouring techniques etc on utube but none seem to memtion the card

Well, I finished one of my Batsford Arboretum pages this afternoon as well as making 5 cards so think I did well today, compared to yesterday when I couldn't get my brain engaged.

I made another two cards yesterday :-)))

Not done any craft work today as I went into town. Took 5 cards to the CRUK shop.

Just back from Malvern and all I can say is wow! I could honestly have spent all of my money in the first hour. There was a lovely range of scrapbook papers on a couple of the stands but I managed to resist that I have enough LOL
I didn't manage to resist a selection of the new tim holtz distress ink colours (they were on my list) some stamps and a job lot of double sided tape (twelve 30m rolls for £5). Plus a few other things including a british version of nestibilities dies that I want to try in my cuttlebug.
If the show is there again next year i am definitely going!

Oh and made quite a nice gilded card in my workshop with Stephanie Weightman

I f you get round to trying the 'nestabilities by tonight let me know if they work in the Cuttlebug please.

Entrance costs £7.50/£6.50 but if you buy before you go you can get £3 off the ticket price using offer codes I used 'SHOWGROUND'
You print the tickets from the email they send you and I've just been on the website and it seems to still be working.

The nestabilities type dies I bought are by Little Claire Designs and they work great in the cuttlebug. I was straight on the website to find out which plates to use but it's quite easy as it is A+B+C. They are about £6 a set cheaper than the real nestabilities and I will be getting more. I bought the frilly oval set but they do square, rectangle, circle and oval in both frilly (scalloped) and plain. You get four different sizes in each set and can cut solids and frames. Certainly for what I want them for they are going to be ideal.

My men will be watching the rugby today.... I wondered why they looked at me in horror yesterday when I wrote out and told them my plans for the weekend... which included a lot of tidying up in the garden today, lolol.

So.... having just remembered that the rugby is on... I shall be kind and let them watch... so I am off to Dunelm and the Range to find some nice new hole punches to play with while they are doing that.

Yesterday, I made 4 cards for mother's day, and didn't like one of them enough to give to my mum.... so I haven't stuck the *Mother's Day* tag on them.... I shall put them away and maybe I will finish them in a week or so.

I used pre bought pearlised card, but don't have embellishments to tone in with that... everything either looks too cutesie, or too formal...

I had a go at stamping, and wasn't keen.... but didn't actually know what I was trying to achieve, so that was probably why.

Ann.... what is a cuttlebug? I have seen them mentioned a few times... I will go and google as well... I have a feeling I might have to have one, lolol I do know that I really want a die cutting machine..... I never seem to have just the right thing for a project........ *sigh*..... and when you look at the tools used by folk in the magazines.... well, I wouldn't know where to start.

I am going to look for a crop in the area... I think that is the way to learn.

Ohhh Daff am glad you asked what a cuttlebug is - Im sure I will need one as well.
I did look Malvern up on the map and although not too far after all my online shopping I thought I best resist :-))

The Cuttlebug is a die cutting machine made by the same people who make the cricut electronic cutting system. I've had mine for over a year now and wouldn't be without it. You can use pretty much all makes of dies in it and it folds up nicely for storage or transporting. I'm sure there are some good demos on you tube.

I'd recommend a crop if you can find one Daff, it's nice to see what other people are doing and you can learn and be inspired and get to spend time with people who get what you are doing. I actually travel over 30 miles to my crop, there are a couple closer but they didn't suit me and the local one I did go to doesn't run anymore. I keep saying I'll start my own, maybe one day

Dizzi,I boughttwo of those when they were a fiver each... am gutted!! But I still think I got a bargain... I've tucked them away, so they will come in either as prezzies or to fill and use later...... I am finding *going small* a bit of a struggle, lolol

Sarah, thanks for that.... I think I must have one... I really do like to make my own embellishments, and have found it quite frustrating today, not being able to achieve quite what I wanted... but I have persevered, and am now looking proudly at a card I would gladly give my mum... I love it... and I threw away the sketch I was using!!

I haven't managed to get out yet.... I had a spurt of inspiration just as I was going, and that stopped me in my tracks... but I am pleased it did, lolol

Ann, the weather has been glorious here... hope it has been in Malvern, as well..... and not too cold, either, I know how you hate to be cold!

Sarah,as far as a crop is concerned, there seem to be a couple in the area.... I shall make enquiries... otherwise Ann will find me turning up on her doorstep like little orphan Annie, lolol!!

Oh well... off to take some photos of my card... and do the inscription page. I have scanned the embellishments, so I will collage then mute them, and write an inscription over the top... if I can work out how to do it, lol... see you next week!!
