Morning all, I was just wondering if Ninja Lady was still on g.r. we dont seem to have heard from her for a while.also Christina who popped on briefly, it would be nice to hear from anyone else too....
I managed to get a new storage trolley it is great, five deep drawers, now a ot of my stuff is in them , much easier to see where various stuff is, I made a few more cards, I am trying to do a selection to cover all types, what I need to find now is suitable verses for them I am waiting for a c.d. to come with many verses on, it was held up because of Easter, in fact several other things were so hopefully they will start to arrive soon....I love getting parcels, must be the kid in me.....lol....

Hi Jan, I am sure you are enjoying your time with the little one, taking lots of photos too no doubt?

Jean I have a booklet called Just a Word which is a great help with cards. Some of the verses are trashy but i adapt them a bit.

I seem to remember that Ninja Lady became very busy with something, was it quilting. Sad really as she was a great contributor. And, yes, where did Christina go?

JustJean Report 7 Apr 2010 13:18

Ann, you have just jogged my memory, I recall buying some books when I did the cards years ago, I got rid of the craft stuff but I dont think I got rid of the books, so I will send J up into the loft to see if he can find them , I have been printing off some insets and was able to add my own words and verses, until the flippin ink ran out, so now I have to wait for D to see if she has any.... watch this space.... btw, have you put your pics on yet, you know i love to see them...I will send you some of my card pics....

AnninGlos Report 9 Apr 2010 08:37

Sarah, I saw that new scrap book information book in Smiths yesterday. No way am I paying £9.99 (£10) for that.

I haven't seen a scrap book magazine for a while either, is that still going?

SarahSalopianScrapper

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 10 Apr 2010 11:50

Ann the lattest scrapbook magazine came out on March 25th, Scrapbook Trends was due out the same day but has been delayed.
I have the scrapbook inspirations book because I got it as a late birthday gift. It's ok, not quite an ideas book in the same way the US ones are but I'm not convinced it is worth the price.
I actually picked up a copy of an australian scrapbook mag at my last crop, a bit expensive but quite good so I might look out for anyone selling secondhand copies.

Have managed to put myself out of action this morning, my ankle gave way going outside and I fell. Landed in a seated position but on the edge of the path and the lawn. Pain has eased a lot but I can't stay in one position for long and sitting is a total no no. Am able to get online because I've set the laptop up in the bedroom and can lie down to type LOL

I knew GR members were multitalented, but lying down to type. That is a new one on me. LOLOL. Take care now.

Lying down to type is not so difficult. I am lying on my front on the bed with the laptop on the top of the blanket box which makes it just the right height for me to type after a fashion. Now if I could just manage to craft like this I'd be happy

Ouch Sarah that sounds painful, I hope the pain eases soon. When I was about 10 I did a handstand and landed on the edge of the lawn on my back, I am sure that was the start of my back problems so I hope yours wont be long lasting.

Cheshiremaid Report 10 Apr 2010 23:11

Hello everyone...

I have not been around much or even done any scrapping for that matter...my time has been taken up by family history as I was contacted three weeks ago by a newly found distant cousin living in OZ who had just joined GR...woo hoo!! Then H put me touch with another distant cousin (not a member of GR) so we have all been busy emailing info, photos etc. I was so excited.

One of my 2x maternal grandmother Emma's brothers had emigrated to OZ...no wonder I couldn't find him after his marriage in 1876 lol. My two new cousins didn't know what happened to Emma as it looks as if my 2x gt grandparents did not marry...a bit of mystery really! After several years of looking I am sure it will be one of those mysteries left unsolved..darn it!!

My friend rang me last week and very excitedly told me that a fairly large local garden centre had opened a craft shop last November!! We have been over today and I have to say we were very impressed..ooooh and they sell Tim Holtz stuff. So another small fortune spent and I cannot wait to start trying it all tomorrow. It doesn't take much to get us excited does it lol.

Oooh Sarah...I hope the pain is easing a little. I thought of you when I was buying my 3 Tim Holtz ink pads!

My OH has been looking out for the new scrapbooking magazine for me but after seeing several reviews saying it was not worth the money I told him not to bother...I would prefer to spend the money on more craft stuff. I did buy the Do-Crafts magazine today as it had a free gift of 3 Victoria & Albert floral clear stamps...it only cost £2.50 which I thought was a bargain.

Best wishes to all

Linda x

Am now back home after my little break - took loads of photos for my scrapbooks
Sarah I hope you mend soon, poor you.
Whilst at my daughters we went to Ikea, I brought lots of little jars and pots for all my little bits, had a bit of a sort out yesterday but decided not to use them all till I move and keep them packaged up.
On my return as hubby missed me so much he treated me last night to a nice online order of another 10 promarkers and a gold one :-))) cant wait for the post now :-))
I also cant belive how much stuff I have in the short time I have been doing this (january)
Take Care all

Goodness Jan, another year and you will need an extra room!! Nice of your OH to buy you stuff!!!

Linda, What part of the country are you in. great to fins a new craft shop, was it an individual one or one of a chain?

SarahSalopianScrapper Report 11 Apr 2010 22:04

I'm feeling a bit better today thankfully. And managed a trip to a fairly local craft shop that I've been near to loads of times but never actually visited. Was quite restrained with my spending and picked up a couple of embossing folders for my cuttlebug and two more distress inks (I now only need 11 for a full collection)
Plus I made a couple of ATCs this morning
