Diane, I appreciate that this thread is quite old but I have sent you a direct message.

Just had another though, and someone else may be able to confirm if this is correct please?

On the original birth certificate obtained for someone in born around the same time and adopted, the certificate turned up clearly marked "Adopted". This had been ordered in the normal way via the GRO, so I wonder if this happened in all adoption cases? If it did, and you have some doubt if this was an adoption it may be worth ordering the certificate to confirm this one way or the other.

Don't know if you've considered the possibility of him being shipped to abroad - over 150,000 children aged 3-14 were shipped out of care homes to other commonwealth countries. If you google "home children" there is quite a bit of information online. A lot ended up in Australia & that tree had some Aus connections - possibly one of the Australian members may be able to check if there are lists of names?

Thanks Flip, Already knew about Peter, so thanks, but this family is somewhat complicated. Will try the adoption theory. Thanks again.

There is a GR member (Peter) with John, Ruth & their parents in his tree, along with a lot of more recent Langburn's. Might be worth contacting him to see if he has any information.

Start with search trees

Advise Ruth to add her name etc to the adoption contact register

I am trying to find John Langburn born 1951 to Kitty Langburn nee Hughes
in Anglesey. John may have been put up for adoption when very small.
His half sister Ruth is trying to find him.
Would be grateful for any help out there.
