Find Living Relatives

I'm looking for my Uncle that was adopted at an early age. Mother was Violet Shoppee and Father I only know as Laurie born 1946. Believed he was adopted somewhere in Guildford Area so the surname may well of changed.

I can see he was born a long time after his parents' marriage. I assume he was a war baby?
If not too personal, are you sure he was adopted, and do you know why?

ADDED there are 3 people who have him in their trees, have you tried contacting them?

It might be worth adding your name to the adoption contact register if you have no luck otherwise.
Not sure it helps but will Pm birth details plus parents' marriage and Violet's death. They apparently divorced according to an Ancestry tree.

Do these things:
contact anybody on here with the family in their tree (search all trees option in search box above);
Make sure you have a tree with all names on including Christopher, in case he or his family come looking one day;

If you do find possible matches when you use "search all trees" and want to get in contact with the tree owner I would suggest that you delete the automated "Please would you give me access to view your tree?" message that is there and write your own outlining who you are looking for.

Most members will not let you look at their tree before first establishing a connection.

He is also registered under the name Lawrence as well as Shoppee.

Look on FreeBMD.

He is registered under the surname Lawrence and Shoppee, meaning his birth father must have been present at the registration.
