Find Living Relatives

I'm trying to find any friends of Harold Pye, born Walton, Liverpool in Feb 1932. He was my husband's biological father. We have found his lovely family but sadly no-one still alive who can fill in the blanks about Harold's life. We believe he lived for quite some years with a lady called Stella in the 1960's or 1970's in or around the Wavertree area. He was a painter and decorator by trade. He died in 1999. I have found a marriage for a Harold Pye to a Stella R Miller in Derbyshire in 1963?

have you got a copy of his death certificate to see who dealt with it. Normally someone in the family does it. So might be helpful to get a copy.

If his family were able to give clues as to where he worked, you might be able to make contact with them if they had/have a Social club or Pensioners Association.

Friendsreunited might have a section on the firm. Not much help if he worked independently!

If the DC gives a home address, check if the neighbouring houses have been sold since then - try sold Prices on Zoopla.

If they haven't changed hands, write to the occupiers and see if they have any memories of him.

How about putting an advert in the local paper, or even an 'in memorium' notice inviting contact via the paper for comments from people who remember him.
