Thanks for your advice, she was born in our town so will be our local ss, we have also printed off to fill in the form for adoption register, this time she won't give up we will keep searching until she is found or I'm other case until she wants to be found

You can use what ever email address you like. The suggestion of creating a 'throw away' one was to avoid cluttering up your normal email box with unwanted spam ;-)

It would probably be best to start with SS closest to the home address then if Karen was born 'out of area', the relevant SS to the birth address.

We don't know which social services are involved if any are the only information my nana will give to my mam is that the doctor helped her with adoption I'll have to look at our local ss to find out more.
I've used the same email address for 12 years now so would I not just be able to use that one?

Hi Zoe - yes the Adoption Register is probably one of the best routes to take. The more exposure you have, the better the chance of finding her, if that is what she wants.

Looking for any other 'missing you' type of internet sites and add her/your mother's name.

As her birth reg is listed on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl you could aquire a throw away email address and add a 'post'em'. That way, if she or any current relative goes looking, they would be able to contact you.

You've listed her on your own tree. How about adding Middlesborough or Teeside as her place of birth? Presumably your mother, with her permission, it also listed. Even if you stop sunscribing or actively researching FH, keep your registered email address current. That way if anyone else does a search in the future, they will be able to send a message.

Has your mother contact the SS who handled the adoption? They may be willing to put a letter from her on Karen's file, or to act as an intermediary if she has already accessed it. You may find that Karen doesn't want to upset her adoptive parents while they are still living by searching for her birth family.

Hi im wondering if anyone can help me, my mother has been looking for her sister forover twenty years but ghasn't got far, she has her original birth certificate, her nane was karen crockett she was born 22nd feb 1972 in middlesbrough. We don't have her adopted name is there any way of finding this out, we are pkanning on registering on the adoption register is this a good idea and wilk it be worth it.
