Hello Guys

Many thanks for taking the time to read this thread. Im trying to look for my biological father but have little information and I'm clueless as to where to start. If anybody could help out that would be greatly appreciated.

The info I have is a first and surname, approx. place of living in 1983, possible sons name and vague info about moving abroad ( only country) lol.

Like I say any help would be great of even just a nudge in the right direction.

Do you have some idea as to his age, and does he have an unusual surname (as that makes it a lot easier)

If so, just start with a quick look to see if he is in anyone's tree on here.

How approximate a place of living - search historical ER's for him - or are you living abroad?

Single or married at your time of birth?

Are you prepared to give some names, or do you wish to keep those private?

Thanks very much for your reply its really appreciated. Idea to age is around 54 give or take 5 or so years.

His surname is Moss and I understand he was single at the time.

Im not living abroad but I know he has been to South Africa at some point, so not sure if he has stayed there or returned.

You could try Friendsreunited who have school, workplace and street sections.

The important thing to find out is his full name, then using GRO BMD index, work out if he had siblings who know his whereabouts.
If its an unusual combination of names, try Facebook

If he had no knowledge of you, even with the remote chance you were to make contact, you may not get the welcome you hope for.
