there is no other Lawrence Phillips birth to match the birthdate on that death record in London

I guess for someone born 1924 it would not be a shock to see their death ... I do wonder whether Anthony wanted his parents' entire personal history laid out here ...

but just to note, the other births were double registered


there may be a chance this is Lawrence's second wife's death

and there are two births in Marylebone before that time that don't match readily with another marriage for the same surnames (always difficult to tell when a mother may have had a previous marriage)

Betty died in 2014, according to on-line newspaper obituaries.

Presumably, you are aware of your 5 siblings.

Did all of them have their surname changed to Stokes?

Christopher has his tree on here, with you included in it........are you in contact with him?

You need the marriage cert.......................you can't trace your (?)father without knowing some facts

Neither of these deaths were in Northants, so you need to get a few certificates to check.

You can look for children on free bmd using Phillips and Betty's maiden name.

Have you looked to see if either are in any trees on here?

At least 5 children in Northants. from 1945 to 1954.

Buy a copy of the marriage cert, to find out how old he was, and his father's name.
