I am looking for living relatives of Arthur Duffield, born 1918 in Hemsworth, West Yorks, UK who emigrated to U.S.A. in 1949, possibly with his wife, Elizabeth. Any leads will be gratefully received.

I see the Outward passenger list in 1949 travelling to the US with Elizabeth (aged 28)- giving his last UK residence as Bridlington and occupation a Plumber. On the New York arrivals passenger list for the same journey he's with Violet E Duffield (age 28)- so perhaps known as Elizabeth?

That's great information. The Violet Elizabeth could be right because I have found a marriage for Arthur Duffield to Violet E Garton in Scunthorpe UK in 1946, but not one to an Elizabeth that looked right.
The death information for Arthur and E V Duffield looks good too.

I have just read the obituary for Violet. All the information fits with what I have from the UK including Violet's maiden name. The only thing wrong is the marriage date which is a year out - buy anyone can make a mistake.
