Add yourself to the national adoption contact register

If the boy is interested in tracing birth family, he may have done the same

Look in search trees on here

He was never spoken about was only while researching tree that he came to light. I have his original birth cert but because he was adopted I have been told it is up to him to look for his birth family. I would have to go through an agency which would cost more than I can afford.
Would just like to know if he wants contact, I will respect his wishes.

Have you submitted a 'Post'em' to the gro entry on FreeBmd?
http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

Get a free email address (so you don't get swamped with spam) from say @gmail. @hotmail etc. Leave a brief message and the contact details. If he or current relatives are looking for birth family, they may seach the site. You could do the same to his mother/parent's entries.

Similarly, even if you let your GR membership lapse make sure that your linked email address is always current. If your birth relative searches this site in the future, he may come across either this thread or your tree. By subscribing or taking out a free trial they can click on your name to send you a message.
