Can anyone out there help my sisters and I to find our half brother? All we know is that he was called Anthony Broad and born 1967 in Sheffield South Yorkshire.

Do you know his mother's maiden name? Without this it will be very difficult as there were 309 children born in Sheffield in 1967 with the name Anthony.

EDIT - going by your own surname Lynne, I think I have found his birth, which presumably you already have, but it seems he was adopted (going by the small "s" at the end of the page number). If this is the case then the only thing I can suggest is adding yourself to the National Adoption Contact Register in the hope that Anthony will do the same if he decides to try to find his birth family. It is impossible to know what his current name is.

Thank you Kath. He was mum's but not dad's hence the adoption. Mum sadly died last year but would have loved us to make contact. She couldn't have done it herself as Dad would have gone ballistic . Quite sad really. Obviously his adoptive parents may have changed his name as he was given up at 6wks.Will take on board what you said.

Thanks again. X

Go to Search at the top and select Search All Member Trees. Look for you mum and contact everyone who has her name in their tree.

You could also put Anthony's birth name into your tree. If he ever decides to get his original birth certificate and starts looking for his birth family he may come across the entry.

There are a couple of people who have your mother in their trees. Have you tried contacting them (although I doubt whether anyone knows anything about where Anthony is now)?

Hi Kath, yes I've done all that.
Will put my name down on the adoption register.
Many thanks once again.
