Velise I will send you the birth details for the four possible children

(not 3, malyon, and once again, I don't know why you are posting things that have already been posted)

edit - sent contact info for one of the children

yes, it is always very sad to discover that people died before one had the chance to find them, especially so young :-(

Hello again Joonie, Yes I am looking for details of both parents of ~Samuel's and his half siblings. It is difficult to attach both searches because his mother was married to someone else when she and Reginald George Bond had him but it seems that her marriage was saved and that they had several children after this. I have also found that Samuel's father and his spouse Margaret Davies seem to have split and she remarried but I am not completely certain on that one until I have researched that more. The News item of the death of Samuel's brother gave the street address so electoral rolls should state if the family still reside there. Thank you again for your help... I am very new to all of this but finding it both exciting and time consuming! :-)

Hello Joonie,

thank you for your help.. I have been working hard on this over the last few days and very pleased to learn that you discovered two more children of that marriage than I have found. Sadly, I discovered last evening that one of the sons died suddenly at home in 2006 aged just 36yrs. I found this very poignant as my own son died one year later at the same age! I believe that one of the children was a girl. We are very happy to have found some links.. it is so important to someone who has never known a family. I will search the links that you have reviewed for me Joonie and thank you ~Rose for interacting with Joonie.... I really appreciate this. Val :-)

ah okay so we are galloping off in two different directions :-)

(I was (possibly mistakenly) thinking that you were also looking for info about your partner's father's family, Velise.)

Joonie, it was a possible electoral roll entry for one of the children ( born Brecknock) to the Samuel/Jenkins marriage :-)

Rose ... nature of that info? :-)

you know ... just so other helpers don't go looking for the same thing

Velise, given the info in your post, is this possibly the death of your partner's father?

Reginald George Bond 1917 Mar 1993 Hereford

the death certificate might provide info about the informant that could be useful

there are 4 Bond-Davies births in Hereford in the correct time frame, and no other Mr Bond + Ms Davies marriage there ... and 2 of those children married in Hereford

perhaps this is the info Rose sent?

Thank you again Rose, I do appreciate your kindness as this is very new to me but am inspired by what I have discovered thus far and will continue. I have been to Brecon some years ago .. who would think that I would be researching for threads of Samuel's roots today! Have a nice day Rose. Raining here in East Sussex! KInd regards, Val :-)

Hello Rambling Rose (love the user name!) thank you so very much for your kind response to my search. Yes, I have found several records.. including the record of his biological father's marriage with the spouse's maiden name of Davies but have not yet discovered if they had children. We know also that the father and mother have both died and we have found that Samuel's mother and her husband Thomas Samuel had a male child in 1955. This site found that a family tree was held by someone and I have messaged her in hopes that she may be willing to share any information that she has. We are aware that it will probably be a shock to discover this but our desire is not to harm anyone or the memory of Samuel's mother or her husband and family but to find whatever we can to link some threads and perhaps see some photo's of his mother and father and any siblings. Thank you so much again and I will definitely check the site that you have suggested and see what I can discover. Val :-)

Valerie, being cautious as these people are probably living, have you checked out the births surname Samuel mmn Jenkins on Freebmd.org. uk Brecknock area?

There is a tree on Ancestry which would seem to imply there were more children to that marriage.

Welcome to the boards Valerie, have you looked via 'Search' at top of page to see whether Samuel or parents is listed in anyone else's tree?

Just for ref for helpers, the birth was reg in both names

Births Mar 1946 (>99%)

Boud Samuel B Jenkins Hereford 6a 895 ( presumably a mistype of Bond)

Samuel Samuel B Jenkins Hereford 6a 895

Hello, I am making searches on behalf of my partner Samuel Brian Bond born 1946 to Edna Enid Lorna Samuel (nee Jenkins) who was born in 1925 and married in 1941 to Thomas Samuel in Brecknock Wales. Samuel's father was Reginald George Bond and the address given for his mother at that time was in Hereford and registration of the birth was made there. We note that his mother died in Brecknock and that she had at least one other child (a half brother) to Samuel. Samuel was placed for adoption from a children's home in Wales and was adopted at about 4 years of age by a couple who resided in Croydon and he grew up there. The adoption was not a happy one and when he was told by the parents that he did not really belong to them, he was ecstatic because he had wondered why he was not like them, did not think like them or behave like them!! :-( Samuel is now 69 years of age and we would really value any information that may be found with respect to his parents and half siblings. Of course we are aware that his birth may come as a real shock to family members but war was a difficult time for many and at the end of the day... the child becomes the victim. Samuel has absolutely no grievance with the fact that his mother found that she had to take the decision to place him for adoption. He changed his name back to his birth name Samuel Brian Bond (the Samuel obviously representative of his mother's surname at his birth) a few years ago by deed poll. Samuel lives in Eastbourne East Sussex, was widowed in 1997 and he and I have been together for 20months. He had three children, two boys and a girl with his previous wife who are mid and upper forties now. We have his original birth certificate and his adoption certificate if these are required as proof. We believe that the relatives to Samuel still live in the Brecknock Brecon area of Wales. Please, if anyone knows anything or has any information, would you be kind enough to share it with me. My name is Val Bond (nee Roberts.. and I support Wales by the way!!) Thank you for reading this and hoping to hear from someone soon.
