Looking for Stephen Foster born c1950 around the Walton on Thames Surrey area possibly Esher, Hinchley Wood, Molesey. Knew Julia Rands 1964 onwards.

Yes it is a father,
he saw his son till he was 3, then the son was
adopted by his own mother
and new stepfather.

There are a couple of births from someone of that name 1950ish Surrey, but the places you mention fall within different registration districts!

Can the birth mother remember the name of his parents, or siblings if he had any? We might be able to back-track and find his own parents marriage to confirm them. If they (siblings or parents) have more distinctive names, they may be easier to find.

Does the birth mother remember the exact address were he lived when she knew him? Historical ER might show Foster adults at that address. I think the minimum voting age in 1964 was still 21.

If they went to the same school, or the birth mother knows what it was, see if he has registered on Friends Reunited - someone there may have kept in contact with him

Unfortunately we are not in contact with the Mother.
When she revealed my husband's heritage it was out of spite at his adoptive father
for having an affair 'he's not your real Dad anyway' was the line used. She did reveal his name, that she met him at 14, she had my husband at 18. Then 3 years later married Adrian's adoptive father. He was sent to 'Coventry' was also said. I think the Grandparents told him to go, so their daughter could make a good marriage. When we were in contact with her she wouldn't talk about. My husband has a right to know and time is not on our side. Stephen must be in his middle/late 60's. I have written to Kingston County Court for his adoption records. We've also registered an interest on the Adoption Register but his father has not. Thank you for the pointers Xx

The adoption records are a good place to start - they might record his address at the time, that's assuming he had to give permission. That's were the historical ER can be useful.
