Apologies marked as "answered" in error.

I'm looking for information with regard to a family member Mary Munro Sutherland please.

The most recent information I have dates back to the early sixties: Mary was born in 1936, near Wick, Scotland. After training as a nurse in Elgin, she went on to work at Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow hospitals after which she moved to London where her last known position was as a Theatre Sister at Paddington Hospital in July, 1962.

Any information will be gratefully received with thanks.

mtsd has your question actually been fully answered or are you still looking for information to find Mary?

by marking it as answered you are saying you don't need any more help

if that isn't the case, you could use the 'Edit' on your first post and make the first line

'still looking for information, marked as answered by accident'

:-)

and do answer questions that will help others look - when was she born?

also, and you do not have to give specifics (we do read between the lines), something about your relationship - just, is she a family member?

was she born in Lybster?

someone may have her in a family tree here - this link will take you directly to that search result

http://tinyurl.com/nqflr6r

if you do not know the person who owns that tree, you can send them a message by clicking on 'More info'

also search there for the surname Sutherland born in Lybster say 1928 +/- 10 years and the same person and others have people who could be Mary's siblings in their trees

ScotlandsPeople shows two marriages of women with that name:

one in 1962 in Latheron, Caithness, and one in 1990 in Wick.

Will PM details to mtsd.
mstd - you'd have to buy the certs to see the names of the parents of the two Mary's, to know if either of them is the one you're looking for - assuming you know her parents' names.

EDIT:

The couple who married in 1962 are in the London ER for 1964 & 1965, in Kensington.

EDIT AGAIN:

They are listed on 192.com, as being on ER 2002-15, along with a daughter, who was born in Lincolnshire in 1972. I don't have credits to see the address.

ArgyllGran - see if the names are on
http://www.searchelectoralroll.co.uk/Electoral_Roll_Search.asp

If there is more than one result, put the name and the post code into 192.com. The free result will tell you for which years the named person is listed.

Thanks, Det .

I'll PM husband's address to mtsd (he's also in current BT phonebook) - though searchelectoralroll says Mary's 59, which can't be true when she married in 1962. She doesn't appear to have died, and 192.com won't let me look anything up today. It says I've reached my daily limit of 10 searches - which is not true - unless "daily" means within any 24 hour period.

The daughter has two other addresses in the same town.

There are also two addresses in another part of the country for a Mary M with the right surname, aged 77.
Could that mean the couple separated 20 years ago when Mary was 59; Mary then lived at the other addresses until she was 77, then died two years ago??

If alive, she should be c.79 now.

The husband's age as stated on searchelectoralroll is approximately that, so looks good for Mary being the one mtsd is looking for.

~EDIT:
Further research shows that the Mary M aged 77 in another part of the country is not the right one.

And now that 192.com is letting me search, I see that Mary M at the address of the husband is on the 2015 electoral roll.
So the age 59 shown on searchelectoralroll is either a mistake, or she withheld her age after that (is it possible to do that ?!).

another trick ArgyllGran

when 192.com scolds you for being a freeloader, go into your cookies and delete all 192.com cookies, and then start over with a clean slate!

in Firefox this is Tools > Options > Show Cookies
search for '192' then check them all off and click delete

also the best way to do specific searches at 192.com is by google, you get individual results with more details

e.g. google this

"Mary M Smith" 192.com "john" (or "manchester")

and you are more likely to get an individual record showing a city and partial post code and clickable links for other household members, all showing the years at the address

192.com only shows ages for certain years, not sure but it may be the most recent years where it doesn't show
