Were you in this hospital at this time? I am trying to find the adopted daughter of my friend.
Valerie Bryan born 25th November 1962. Adoptive parents name unknown.
Birth mother Hannah Ivy Bryan lived in Chelsea.
Did you work here? or perhaps you had a baby at the same time, do you remember me? if you remember anything please message me.
Valerie's adoption papers were dealt with through Hitching County Court. <3

The person who has Valerie in her tree is Hannah's daughter.

Thank you for your replies. I know Hannahs daughter Lorraine started the search I'm trying to help as its too time consuming for her.
I will try All Members Trees - thank you Pam and Rose so much for your ideas.

Has Hannah or Lorraine added their & Valerie’s name to the Adoption Contact Register?
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

There are 2 birth regs for a Valerie Bryan registered in the last quarter of 1962 or first quarter of 1963.

Only one has the S notation indicating she was adopted.

If you are confident which one is relevant, you can leave a Post’em (Message) asking for current relatives to contact birth ones. Use a generic email address, one not tied to a broadband supplier, such as @gmail, @hotmail etc.

Could Lorraine/Hannah write a letter to Valerie and ask SS to add it to her file? If she ever decides to explore her origins, that’s the obvious place she’d look. If her birth family did go down that route, they’d need to send a new letter every time they moved.

Please ask Lorraine not to delete her account – just let it lapse. That way if a current relative comes looking for birth ones, they can contact her (or you for that matter) . Make sure that your/her linked email address is always up-to-date, even if you/she changes suppliers.

You’d be surprised at the number of people, both birth family and adopted, who ‘google’ their names, find a thread on this site and try to contact the poster. Its so discouraging when its realised the poster has deleted their account with no way of contacting them.
