Linda - as Doreen was adopted, we'd advise birth family to register her and their names on the Adoption Contact Register, and hope that she has to.
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

Have you contacted or know Lisa who lists Doreen on her tree?
http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/messages/14034982/discover?rk=637546335
If not, then send her a message asking how she is related & explaining yours

As she is the only person to have entered Doreen's name, you would be advised to add her to your own tree on here. That way, if she or a current relative wishes to find birth family, your tree will come up in a Search result.

Even if money becomes tight, we'd strongly advise you not to Delete your account on GR, just allow your membership to lapse. That way if anyone with knowledge wishes to make contact with you in the future, they can click on your name to send a message. Make sure that the email you've used to register with GR is always the most current, even if you change Broadband Suppliers. There's nothing worse than thinking an important message has been ignored when the recipient never received it.

Doreen's birth reg is shown on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl
You could create a free email account specifically for the purpose - @hotmail.com @gmail.com etc etc - and leave a message (Post'em) saying that birth family would be glad to have contact.

You might consider doing the same to the reference for her mother's birth in case 'Doreen' or current family start to research her roots. Just say something along the lines of Birth relatives of Doreen would welcome contact. You do have to consider if her children with Mr Fisher are aware of their half-sibling's birth. If they don't, it may be upsetting for them.

Thank you so much for replying I am doing this for Lisa (my friend) as she unable to afford the fees Doreen is her mum's half sister who she only got to know about when she was in her 40's and would like to find her.

I will pass these details to Lisa and her mum.

Thanks again

Check with Lisa that she has linked her current email address to her 'free' GR account. Even if she no longer subscribes paying members can still contact her via the website & she can reply. Although technically incorrect, you could still add Doreen to your own tree.

There may be a fee to register with the Adoption Contact Register - she can explore the link then make a decision.
