Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on my cousin Bruce Charles FENN. He was born in the Guildford area in the Apr-Jun quarter of 1943 and was put up for adoption shortly after (believed to be in the same area)

I'm afraid I have no further information, so I cannot confirm whether he is living or dead.

Any information would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

Shane Clarke

Well his name would have changed and he isn't in anyone's tree on here

You could add a poster to his birth record on freebmd saying something like a relation would like to make contact and leave an email address

Posting as his name would have changed

If you haven't already, add yourself and his name to the adoption contact register
https://www.gov.uk/adoption-records/the-adoption-contact-register

If 'Bruce' has done the same, the site should match you up.

Buy a copy of his BC so that you'll at least know the correct date of birth. Order from https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/ at a cost of £9.25

Hi there folks,

Thanks for your posts and suggestions, apologies for not acknowledging them sooner. Sounds good to me, I'll give the adoption contacts register a go.

I have a birth certificate for Bruce and a batism location and date, but didn't want to post the full details on here for privacy reasons.

Thanks again for your help, if I hear anything I'll let you know.

Cheers,

Shane

You could still add the postem against his name on FreeBMD even though you have got the cert

Who knows he or someone connected to him could sometime look for his gro birth record and make contact
