I am trying to find my grandfathers WW1 military record, however the problem I have is that he used a different name to his birth register and I don't know which name he joined in, he was born 3rd Oct 1896 Halesworth Charles Vincent (birth register and baptism) called Charlie by the family. His marriage in 1922 and death in 1942 are recorded as Charles Norman Vincent. He was just about old enough to join up in 1914, there is word among last living relations from that side of the family that one of the boys joined the Flying Corp ? I am looking for records for HC and or CN Vincent possibly in Norfolk Regiment as he was from Gt Yarmouth, or in the early Flying Corps.

thank you for your replies, yes those are his brothers Sam and Toby (Albert) , and the details of Grandfathers birth as Halesworth Charles in 1896. Yes he definitely served, he was gassed and had a shrapnel wound my dad remembered, he also suffered from shell shock and spent his last years in an asylum. I have a photo but no one left alive who can confirm its him
