Son of William and Sarah Elizabeth Youngs, of 43, Waddesdon Rd., Dovercourt, Harwich, Essex.

Perhaps descendants of his siblings will have a photo?

They have an entry identifying William as a member of 11 Bn. These entries were submitted by friends, relatives etc. Perhaps they could put you in contact with the informant.

I have found someone's Grandfather, in uniform, on this website, by searching for the GF's Battalion. The photograph was taken in 1917, 3 months before his death.......

My Great Uncle William James Youngs served in the Essex Regiment during WW1. He fought on the Somme but unfortunately was killed on either 15th or 16th October 1916 and has no known grave although he is remembered at the Thripveal Memorial. He was 21 years if age at the time of his death.
I wonder if anyone else has a relative who served in the same Battalion around that time and have any group photos? Unfortunately I do not have any photos of him but I think I would recognise him from photos I have of his siblings they all looked very similar.
I'm planning to book a Ledger Battlefield tour to visit the area next year.

Hope someone can help.
