Hello Everyone,
Been to the hospital with Ron today for his chemo then we saw the Oncologist who had good news for us, Rons tumours have shrunk considerably he has also put on some more weight, he is now 10st 2lb (all the double cream I keep putting in his food). We know there is no cure for Ron but at least this will give him some extra time and make him more comfortable.
Must get some food ready as I am very hungry.
Love to you all
Evelyn XX

Hello Old,

The first post on this thread contains some helpful Tips for new members - the rest of the thread is simply chatter between other members. Each time someone posts on here, it moves it back to the top of the board for the Tips to be seen again.

This thread was given the go-ahead from the Genes team last year.

I'm sure you're not miserable and I hope you are getting the help you are looking for.

Not sure how the content relates to the title - no wonder previous versions were removed by Genes - and I am not an old misery, just looking for help

Hello Old, could you be a little more specific please?

Josie, really hope you get the job you want. Here's hoping. :-D

I can see Anne ending up with a squashed nose soon....it's always pressed to that grindstone.... :-D

A pick and mix day today.........some sorting out, some buying of wallpaper, some visiting, some ironing.....all keeps the adrenalin flowing I suppose.

Take care all. Cx

Morning all - 7am today - still didn't feel like getting up - must be the weather.

Weather station sounds fun Sue - did you get your Chinese meal?

Robert - please reconsider - we love to have you pop in on us from time to time - we could help weather proof the shell for winter.

Josie - fingers crossed - hows the rugger going - are our brits behaving themselves?

Only a flying visit as i have loads to do on both jobs.

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone,
Got 10 hours temp work this week, which is a help.

Am waiting for contact from the employer on a job I applied for about 4 weeks ago, after applying it was put on hold,
my Work Broker that is currently helping me told me the employer would be in contact and has assured me that the job is still there and I still have a chance.

I really want this job.
The Position is a Retail Buyer of Glass and Crockery for a large Wholesale Cash and Carry Company with 4 Branches.

Way back when I was 22, I was a Retail Buyer for a Department Store. So hope I will be successful in getting this Job, with 12 years to go until retirement I want a job that's mentally challenging instead of physically challenging..

Time to go and make some breakfast certainly not Anne's.... Mega Breakfast :-D

Catch you all later Josie :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3

Hi Everyone

Thank You all for your good wishes .

I did have a lovely day,I asked everyone to give me gift vouchers this year as did my Oh he was 60 on the 3rd of Sept.

We have been shopping today to spend some of the vouchers,I did get myself a weather station...it was a bit of a hassle putting it together but I have always wanted one .
It is now set up in the back garden, rain forecast for tonight so I will be able to see how many mil's of rain we get overnight.

We still have afew left and will spend them as we see something we need.

Robert I am very sad you are not coming back we do need a mans angle on things from time to time ,dare I say that Ladies.

Josie I do hope some work comes up for you soon, how is the football going.

I am now putting together a rack for my DVD's,when we went to Bali we bought a heap of them,I have so many now I could start my own video rental shop.
They are pirot copies of course btu they are very good and only cost about $1.20 Aus money.

Well I had better get back to it .
see you all tomorrow.

No Kiwibird,

I will NOT be back.
The only thing in life that frightens me is WOMEN and now without Frank, I am on my own and totally exposed - Thank You but no thank you!!!
With a Wife and 2 Daughters I have always been outnumbered. The first cat we had was a male but was promptly castrated and replaced in later years by a female.
Be nice to each other.
Love and best wishes to all of you

Morning all 5am again - very dark - lovely full moon clear skies & warm for the time of year - back to semi civilised hours tomorrow 7am

I so didn't want to get up this morning - first time in a long while. I wish I didn't have to do overtime & could relax for a change. Now I am worried about the week off & if there will be enough time made up to cover the bills in October. So will probably spend the week off worrying & not sleeping either.

We have been so busy here these last few days - no time to stop & smell the roses so the saying goes. No time to think straight so I am sure we will find the odd problem in a few weeks time caused by not having time to check the work for silly errors.

Hope all are keeping well.

How was the birthday meal Sue - any exciting Presents?

Lovely haircut Sylvia - i am sure you will feel fine after the op & a good hair wash & chat with the hairdresser will do you the world of good then.

Josie any news.

Cynthia whats his name your little blondie?

Evelyn I am surprised - thought the breakfast would be perfect for you to keep your strength up.

I know I couldn't eat all that - I would burst - a Little chef Olympic breakfast once or twice a month is enough for me & I do look forward to it. I minus the sausage but have extra bacon on mine.

Two eggs scrambled - 3 rashers of bacon - a large mushroom - 1 grilled tomato - fried potatos - a small portion of baked beans & a slice of fried bread - perfect at 7:30 on a saturday morning at the little chef on Detling hill on the way to a mornings work at Canterbury archive.

Then we leave the archive around 12:45 stop at the costa coffee for a treat - occasional muffin or piece of cake - then home, weekly shopping on the way & just a snack in the evening. Thats whats called a relaxing saturday for us.

Well better look at the work situation. :-P :-P :-P :-P

Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUE

<3 <3 <3 <3

That breakfast is a little large!!

Had my hair cut today ..... hopefully that will keep it looking reasonably respectable during the 10 days or so before I will be able to have a shower after the op next week!

Although, my hairdresser did say that she would wash it for me if I could get in there (and be able to sit in the backward chair) ................ and she would only charge me a little over half the nromal price ;-)

FINALLY, the weather has cooled down .......... it only got to a little over 20C today (as well as being cloudy for most of the day). But I find that so much more pleasant than whe it was close to 30C! That hot weather went on for over 2 weeks ..... incredible for September!

Now that is breakfast for the men................if we had any that is :(

I enjoy allday breakfasts and that one would last me all week never mind all day! Very good value for £12 though.

Porridge Evelyn? Hmm.. it's okay but I have to be in the mood for it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUE..... <3 <3 <3 :-D :-D <3 <3 <3

Hope you have had a really good day.

It's also my gt.grandson's birthday today - he is two years old. Litle blondie! Have just been up to their house with his present. Not that he will be impressed though - it was a voucher for clothes! Did put a comic in too - he loves the In Night Garden programme apparently.

Children's programmes are so far removed from what I used to watch as a child and I was about 5 or 6 before I saw a t.v. Muffin the Mule (complete with strings), Andy Pandy, Bill and Ben.......those were the days!!

Off to add some photos to my trees....I enjoy doing that for some reason.

Night friends. Cx.

Hi Everyone

So we have lost another ,Robert I shall miss your short visits with your little bit of humour.
I hope you will drop in from time to time just to say hello.

Anne I started watching Downton Abbey but I lost the plot of it and I can't seem to pick it up again ,I don't know if we have the same in OZ as the UK .
I think the UK would be in front of us

It is my Birthday today 61 yrs but I don't feel it ,I am having the family over tonight so I can collect my goodies.

The weather here is great, spending time in the Garden and I have the OH home for a few days as he is waiting to start another job.
I do get lots done when I have him around to carry the heavy things and pulling out old plants I no longer want in the Garden.

Reece it is nice to hear from you ,It sounds like we are doing the same things except back to front ,I am getting ready for Summer and you are cleaning up after.
Lots of loving thoughts to you.

Well I am going to get myself some lunch all being late it is 2in the afternoon here and I am starving and I need a cup of tea.

Strictly Come Dancing is back in 3 weeks (saw the launch show on Satuday) I am routing for Anita Dobson & that cute young drummer from Mcfly - hope Holly does well too - also like the new dancer Pasha.

DOWNTON ABBEY is back on Sunday woooooooooooo hoooooooooooo

Some good news after all -

Morning all - 5 am again - dark drizzly - feels like I have been here before no so very long ago.

Robert - why not just rest a while in your shell & just pop in for a wave now & then. We will behave - promise (well fingers crossed behind back)

Reece - lovely to have you visit again - you must have a very large garden.
I love roasted chestnuts.

Evelyns thread looks hopeful again - i am sure we will find Diane (or what ever her real name is) somewhere soon & such positive news regards Ron as well.

Sue & Josie - looking forward to a lovely Spring in your part of the world & the rugby in NZ to help rebuild.

Sylvia - didn't realise you were such a quake zone.

Cynthia & I getting voer the gales of last night - with fences & sheds still in one palce.

Well looks like its going to be a girl power thread now.

Will see if I can persuade Allan from WA to come & join us - he is always up for a laugh & Sue & Josie could do with another one from their side of the world .

Well not only am i in early (just for a couple of days - I am also looking after someone elses work for the next two weeks as well - so doing 1 job from 5am till 9 - then 2 jobs from 9-5:30 - i always knew I was a bit mad - but now i have proved i am barmy.

However i do have a week off from 24th to 3rd October as i said we are going to de clutter (well thats what OH thinks anyway) I will try & be good - promise - well sort of.

I have requested a hotel visit as part of the 2011 programme- i have done all the work I need to do on the programme to win a stay at a counrtry House hotel - if it works I get 2 nights Dinner B & B & hopefully will be able to stay for the night of our birthday as well. Which will be a nice little treat for us. I have given them 3 options - one in Worcester (which i really want as i want to vist one of the open air museums in the area) one in Wiltshire and one in Dorset. iIdo hope at least one is avaialble for the weekend of our birthday. Sunday the 25th is a special event day at the open air museum & it would be a great day out - even if it rains. I love open air museums.

I have a day trip to London again next week to a Venue & events conference - hopefully lots of free samples as well as very sore feet.

Well off to do some work for a change :-P

love & waves to all <3 <3 <3 <3 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
