Hi all
what a mess this all is!
Anne ...... Hervey Bay is a lovely place
In fact, I've just heard that my favourite second cousin (only 6 years younger than me) and her husband will be moving to a new retirement village there in the next week or so.

Good idea Sue - think I will join you - anyone else for a G & T with ice & lemon
Nice to see Dorothy pop in - come back and tell us some more about yourself.
Wet & windy again today - could do with some of your weather Sue.
Frank would be proud of me - just managed to fix my dvd problem on the computer - after spending over £100 I didn't need to spend. All it took was a trip to UTube and an hour or two reprogramming the computer. OH swearing in the background about the waste of money when I could have fixed it a few months ago if i had used the internest.
He forgets I am the one who ends up spending time trying to fix the computer myself. As he said he would have lost patience & got rid of the thing a long time ago.
I just relish the very good friends I have here on this thread & how lucky i am to have found you all.
Hopefully some of the others will be back with us again soon - I miss our chats & friendly banter.
Working tomorrow - so may not be able to pop in & we are at the outlaws on Sunday - just for a change - so will try and pop in sometime on Monday - as I really want to spend some time doing my tree on Monday if I get the chance.
Sue I will worry everytime you go out in the woods now - my aunt moved to Queensland back in the 50's she had only been there a couple of weeks - went to her pantry picked up the cheese dish & found a snake curled up behind it. When my mum told me that story it stayed with me for life. I met her for the first time a few years ago - first time back in the uk in over 40 years. she said she was glad when they left Queensland - too hot & too many creepy crawlies for her. She lives in Hervey Bay now in a retirement village - sounds a wonderful place - she is in her 90's now.
Well back to NCIS and a last look at the new GR - see what else they have managed to change
Take care all - see you later

Hi Everyone
I hope my name comes up Ok
Sylvia I am with you,I hate changes why do they have to fix things that are not broken.
Cylvia I am always biteing my tongue, the OH says it isbecause I talk to much too. I can't see a help Clinic on my left hand Screen but then that might not be unusual as My Dads cousin has only just left to go home . He spent so much time on my computer and has changed a few things so it is taking me a while to get ride of a few things he did.
Anne the main Snakes in Wa are Tiger Snakes and Duegiuts I think it is spelt that way sorry. I have nearley stepped on a Tiger Snake twice I must admit it did scare me I am very wary,we have to be carefull going out in the forest getting firewood when it warms up.
It was a hot one today 37c needless to say I stayed inside with the aircon on,it is 8.30 at night and it is still 30c outside that is.
Well I am going to make a good stiff drink,so nice to have my house and computer back.
See you all tomorrow ,have a good weekend. Suex
EDITE Sorry forgot we do also have Brown Snakes, inland in the hotter Areas, they are very deadly, one killed my brothers dog 5yrs ago he lives inland in Toodyay Wa
Ah Just seen the Help Clinic ,must get my eyes checked again

Hi Dorothy
Nice to see you
I hate these new changes!
I've sent 3 emails to complain so far
They've made the response boxes wider, which means that they no longer fit alongside the listing of board names as they used to .................. so I have to scroll way way down to even find the darned thread, and I have to do that every time I change pages.
Bah Humbug!
Glad you got new frames C, you were lucky ................ I'm usually told that the lenses won't possibly fit in another frame, so I hav eto get new lenses as well!!!

Hello folks, it's me, Cynthia. I've lost my name during the changes to this site.
How are you all finding it now? Lots of complaints going around. Have you seen the new Help Clinic up on the top left? Causing quite a stir it seems.
I haven't heard how my friend with the bypass is so I hope his son phones me in the morning.
Had a nice lunch out with my friend but bit the side of my tongue whilst crunching crunchy toast and now have a large blood blister! It hasn't stopped me talking though!
Got a few more Christmas presents today - I just need to get round to wrapping them up.
Broke the arm on my specs yesterday so had to trot off and get them fixed. Ended up with new frames - luckily still under guarantee. I am forever talking them on and off which must weaken them.
Off to bed now. Hope someone pops in soon. Nice to see you Dorothy.
Take care, Love. Cx.

I don't like snakes either Anne. Spiders I can cope with but not snakes.
When you say Justin Bieber looks about 12 that is a sign of increasing years! It's like policemen and doctors who look like they should still be in school.......scary!
I don't think it has stopped raining today so the novelty is wearing off! The grandchildren finish early on a Wednesday so we usually try and do something for a short while. Too wet today so we came straight back here and had toasted teacakes. After that, we made some cakes and then they watched Ice Age 3 with granddad whilst I got the meal ready. Quite pleasant really.
Went to a meeting this morning about the Criminal Justice system and how it deals with those with a learning difficulty. It was very interesting but, as usual, those on the autistic spectrum drop straight through the net. However, the two men who were doing the presentation are keen to raise the awareness of autism so, hopefully, things will improve.
The chap who works at the hospital with me is having his bypass op tomorrow. It has been postponed 2 or 3 times which hasn't helped his anxiety levels. Just praying it all goes okay for him.
Off for a wander round the boards.
Take care all. Love. Cx

Oh Sue - you mentioned Snakes - are there lots near you - puts a real shiver up my spine - just the thought of any near by - can't even face a small one in a magazine. I woudl be petrified if I had any living near me.
When I stayed in Dallas with my friend didn't tell me that rattlesnakes hibernated under her bungalow in the winter - I don't think i would have slep had I known. She waited till i was leaving (the weather had warmed up a bit that day) to tell me I may see one sunbathing at the rear of the property - i nearly died on the spot.
Her daughters house had Tarantulas - loads of the little devils & babies by the cart load - now they were rather cute as long as you left them alone. you could watch them for hours.
Any way - course all over with - I had a good rest for the day - now we have got rid of Take that - its Justin Bieber fever - he only looks about 12. Never mind soon be Christmas
Back to the grindstone.
Robert you cannot hide - we all have long memories - we know when your birthday is - we will get you out of your shell - no matter how cosy it is .
Wonder how Evelyn is doing in all this rain - Hows the kitchen Sylvia
Don't work too hard at the hospital Cynthia - Hope the bike ride goes well Sue.
Take care all

Hi Sue, I'm sorry I missed your anniversary too....many congratulations to you both.
Like Sylvia, it's getting colder here too. We are leaving the CH on low most of the time and it helps to keep the chll out of the air. It was quite foggy at 8am.
I do hope Robert isn't going to hibernate till January.....you will have to come out and wave over Christmas Robert.....you have a special birthday too - don't think we have forgotten!
Poor Anne - still working hard. Glad she manages to pop in though.
Tuesdays are my hospital/grandchldren day so I don't think it will be too long before I wend my way up the stairs.
Night night. Cx

Hi Everyone
Anne thankyou for your good wishes I did have a good day in the end .
Visitor is going home Wed morning so I can go out on my bike ride ,I really miss it when I don't go.
Warming up in OZ now 27c today, only going to get hotter from here on in,all the snakes are out and about so we have to be carefull if we go out for wood this time of the year. Doing a salad tonight for dinner ,that will be easy.
Neighbour across the road is still in Hospitol ,his wife is really worried ,wish I could spend more time with her but it is diffecult when you have visitors ,you can't be rude.
I hope everyone is well, they may all be busy Anne.
Nice to hear from you Robert,I hope you are nice and tucked up in your little cave . Drop in tonight. Suex

In additon to his teeth and the new kitchen ......

he bought 4 new winter tires for the car this morning, ca $700
went to Ikea to buy wooden toys for MJ, and to "have a look" at kitchen stuff, $360

Hi Everyone
Had a busy day today with visitors but we only have one leftat the moment and he is my dads cousin. He is staying with us for a few days.
My sister lives in Barnsley ,she works for the local council ,she does assesments on people who want to rent public houseing.
She says there is extra points for people other than English and she does not like it when she would rather give a council house to and Englaish person . Can't go into that too much might get her the sack.
It had turned realy cold tonight so the fire has just been lit,I can see another trip to the forest coming up for firewood .
Back to the dinner dishes check in later.

Hi all. Evelyn, I meant to say how pleased I was to hear that your granddaughter's eye problem seems to be settling down. There has been such a lot of talk on eyes here at the moment hasn't there? Taking care of one's sight is so essential.
I like the sound of a multifuel stove - I am near woodland so that would be handy......except I would be too lazy to go out and collect wood!
Sue, I really hope we don't get snow this year but I think it is a possibility. Am going out next week to get a snow shovel just in case. Even though I live on a busy road, I hate being trapped in the house - maybe I have a snow phobia.....lol Whereabouts in Yorkshire is your sister?
I have used that Ccleaner thiney but it removed all my passwords so that was a pain. I am sure I have seen Frank's guidance on how not to let that happen somewhere or other.
OH had a nice if quiet day. Son, daughter, daughter-in-law and grandchildren came round last night so that was nice.
Hope Anne is okay with all that work she does and that Robert's little shell has not been blown away.
Love to all. Cx

Hi Everyone
The Physio did a good job but I suspect it is going to take a few visits to get his neck better.
Cynthia that sounds like s beautifull thing for your friend to do for your OH"s birthday,I hope he has a lovely day tomorrow.
Talking to my sister last night on Skype, she is in Yorkshire. She tells me it is freezeing there and she also suspects snow this winter,I wish I could get there for it but it is not practical for us to come in winter as we would not be able to get around.
I am thinking of March April next year this time ,if there is any snow it should be gone by then.
Dads cousin is coming to stay for a few days tomorrow he is 80 yrs old but very good with the computer and he always shows me things to improve my skills so I am looking forward to my next lessons..
Frank I am doing my CC Clean and Defrage on a regular monthley time scale now and I think it has made my computer work very good.
We are very lucky to have the likes of Frank and Wayno over the years to help us out ,Thankyou boys just so you know we appreciate the help and knowledge you pass on.
Going to a barby tonight,it is only over the road so I can have a bit of a drink and stagger home.
Catch you all later. Suex

It's Remembrance Day, and a Statutory Holiday in most of Canada, including BC
It was cloudy, but not raining, so not too bad a day for the services here in BC. It was even blue skies and some sun in Ottawa for the national Service. Most services are held outside, at Cenotaphs or War Memorials, or any community space in places where they don't have a Memorial. BC is the last in Canada to have the service, due to the time zones.
I heard a plane go overhead just before 11 am, and as we seem to be on the route that the planes take to get to the Cenotaph in downtown for 11 am, that made me turn on the tv to watch the service for about 5 minutes.
Usually it's fighter planes, F-18s, that do the fly-past. This time it was a big plane, escorted by 2 smaller planes ...... I thought it might be a bomber, but it was an Aurora, part of our early warning system.
I think the Aurora was originally designed as a bomber but adapted for use for 16-18 hour patrols out over the Pacific Ocean, every day, 365 days a year, flying at extremely high altitudes and taking photographs of everything and anything that might be suspicious.
During the Lament, about 8 or 10 small single engined Civilian Air Patrol planes did a fly past.
I didn't even know we had a Civilian Air Patrol!
This is the first year in which there is no WW1 veteran still alive, the last one died in February .............. but more attention is being paid to Korean War veterans, after that being the "forgotten" war.
