Hi everyone,
It has been a very long time since I last posted, I have had some serious problems with my computer, I am still using XP, but I hope to change to the new windows 8 in a couple of months time.

Just as an aside it has been trying to snow this morning, and is still trying now. I went to the crem today and took my late wife, June, some flowers for Mothers Day. It is now almost 2 1/2 years since she passed and I miss her greatly. Sometimes it is nice to get some peace and quiet but most times I talk to her.

My former d in l has been round with her partner and my oldest grand daughter and did a brilliant "Spring Clean" for me. The flat is now very pristine.

regards to everyone
John

Hi Everyone

It has been a busy few weeks for us .

Started clearing out the computer room and thought now would be a good time to paint .

We have gone through a few rooms of late and the place is looking good .

With it being so hot outside we thought now was a good time to redecorate ,my Sister is now in OZ but in Sydney for a few days then off to New Zealand to visit her OH's Mother.
They get to WA on the 20th of March,so I shall get her to me on the 27th when she will spent a few days in Busselton before she goes back to Perth and flies home.

I am hoping the weather cools down a bit for her she never did like it hot .

So nice to see you all keeping the thread going ,I am sorry to have left you all with it but I now have a bit more spare time and should be able to get back to my Genealogy again ...I have missed it but I think you need a bit of a break every now and then.

Love to you all and I hope you all have a great weekend.

Suex

I have notice it took me about 10 trys to get to page 175 on this thread ...kept getting the error page ...so nothing has changed then? :-|

Hi everyone,

We do seem a bit hit and miss on here don't we? I think it's probably because we're all busy in our own ways........I have to admit to spending a fair amount of time on FB chatting to the same people as I chat to on here..... :-S

I think Evelyn's sub may have run out Anne, but I do talk to her 'over there' ;-) I'm hoping to get a copy of her baptism certificate to see if it helps in the search for Diane.

I'm surprised Arthur's not worn out looking after those two kittens - they sound more mischievous than children.......... :-D

Haven't been up to anything much myself really.....just the usual humdrum stuff.....which is fine by me....... :-D

Take care all........ Cx <3 <3

Collected kittens at 1800. Nikki had been fitted with a collar as she had been chewing the wound area. They said to keep it on until I take them next Wednesday for the final check up.
On the way home she managed to remove the collar, and all attempts to fit it have proved futile.
Both had some chicken - my planned dinner, and Nikki very soon after climbed to her favourite place on top of my disply cabinet, where she slept for several hours. Came down quickly when I gave them some dry food.
This morning both back to normal as if nothing had happened. wish we could recover as quickly.

I visited Kazakhstan on holiday last year to look at plants. I am giving a talk to a local group next Tuesday, so will be missing from this thread until Wednesday as it takes time to prepare. fortunately, the person who organised our trip - it was an outstanding holiday - has sent me 2 CDs with here images to supplement my own. She took many of us in traditional pose - bottoms up - and many at picnics and restaurants. People really enjoy having something other than flowers.

Signing off for some hard, but pleasant work.

Hi Sue

and everyone

Not much happening here, yet I seem to have been busy, and hence not posting.

We had a lovely 2 days of sun and warm temperatures last week, and another 2 days Sunday/Monday this week. All intervening days were Rain :-(

Arthur ....................... those kittens certainly did have a bad start to life. But you're doing them proud now!!!

Hope they recover well form their operations.

Take care, everyone

Cynthia

I had excellent service from D G Solutions for my double glazing. The windows were excellent, to the latest security level and at a very good price.

Their website is under review. Their email is [email protected]

The windows are guaranteed for 10 years

Shortly going to collect the kittens after their operation - fingers crossed.

Nikki, who hand reared them, visited on Monday. She was amazed at their growth and delighted to see what wonderful cats they have become. She told me about their traumatic entry into the world and how lucky thet were to be alive.
The mother was a burmese cat and belonged to a woman who doted on her - the husband really did not need to do anything with the cat. The woman fell seriously ill, and neither she nor her husband noticed the cat was preganant. The 6 kittens were born under the stairs and it was fortunate the husband heard a noise and investigated. Sadly by the time he reached the PDSA hospital the mother had died from calcium deficiency.

Nikki, who hand reared for the last three weks before rehoming, noticed that the two I have had 'paired off' and was determined they should go together to a new home - lucky me. She thought mine were the best of the bunch - of the remainder, the male is as mischievious as my Nikki, the female who went with him is not terribly energetic or interesting, the remaining female was a bully (and still is). Nothing is known of the father, but all kittens are black with white bibs and white feet.

The surgery has just rung to say I can collect them at 1800 - both are fine..

I think we may have to change the name of the thread - to the Hibernation one.

What is going on out there - have you all found shells like Robert or has the Spring weather got you all out & about

I know Cynthia is looking for Double Glazing - and that can be a big expense

Sally is probably out gallivanting with her club

Arthur is very occupied with the Kittens & Robert still sheltering in his shell

Sue has the baby to look after

Sylvia & Evelyn have vanish & Reece is busy packing

Josie is busy with work

I am here working away on last min holiday bookings for Easter - Everyone seems to want to do a last min holiday

If anyone wants to join me in a game of hunt the person - feel free

Its lonely on your own - I keep finding the same person (me) & I am running out of places to hide that I dont know about -

They are coming to take me away ha ha

Take care all - seem to have lost all the little thingies - no smiley faces

Good news indeed Arthur.......very pleased for you.... :-)

Have been sidetracked a bit this last week - what with FTM and a couple of contentious threads on Chat..........hopefully, normal service will be resumed shortly :-D

I love Spring Anne.....it's my favourite season. I've decided to try and do more walking during the good weather just to appreciate the natural beauty around me. I live in a lovely area so I should make the most of it. :-D :-D

Took my grandson to the dentist and he was absolutely great despite the fact that he had four injections in his mouth and 2 teeth extracted!! :-0

They were removed on advice from the orthodontist and one of them was a back molar - a real whopper. The dentist looked as though he was unscrewing it from his head.......arrrggghhh. I was so proud of my grandson - not a whimper - just took it all in his stride.....bless.

I think we've got to get around to having our double glazing replaced - so must go and see what the situation is costwise.....I guess it won't be cheap :-(

Love to all.....Cx... <3

Wonderful news Arthur - Keep up the good work

Old

Old Report 24 Feb 2013 11:04

Some good news for a change.

I was due to have a biopsy under general anaesthetic this coming Tuesday.

As a diabetic I have 6 monthly blood tests and this includes a check on my PSA.

Last September the PSA had increased - not a high number, but the locum wanted to be sure and referred me back to the consultant. He recommended a biopsy - my choice of simple or under general anaesthetic. Had pre-op in December, but the letter advising op on Jan 24th did not arrive.

Had my Feb diabetic check up, but no PSA result. Had blood taken on Tuesday and result on Friday showed a significant drop in the PSA reading. Appointment to see GP was no problem - 30 minutes after phone call. GP said he saw no reason for a biopsy and my PSA should be monitored every 3 months.

Very relieved indeed.

Now I can concentrate on getting the kittens speyed - their pre-op assessment is tomorrow night.

I loved it too Arthur - a lot better than some of ours were this year - I found it very interesting

I missed the "Meet the Izzards" hopefully they will repeat it

Looking forward to the rest of the US series now ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Did anyone catch WDYTYA US - Martin Sheen on Tuesday evening. I recorded it and watched it today.

Excellent programme and interesting to see the family details of an American whose background was Sanish and Irish only one generation back.

Astonishing what details are available if you have someone to help you look. The Spanish thread was particularly interesting and went back to the early 1700s

I am sure it is a repeat but I missed the series first time round.
