Hi everyone. Haven't heard from Evelyn for a while so I hope she is okay.........sending love to her.... <3

About 18 months ago, I sent a message to person on FB who had the surname Goddard-Fenwick, in the hope that they were related to Evelyn's Godmother and could help.

Just this week they have replied with apologies and asking how they can help. I have filled them in (very briefly) with the details of our search for DLM and hope that they get back to me soon. If no-one from the family can recall anything about Diane, then that avenue may be closed for a while.

Meanwhile.........we keep on beavering away...

:-D :-D :-D

Hi Evelyn.
Hope you are OK because it´s been very quiet on the thread for a couple of weeks, although I know that several people are beavering away behind the scenes.

Viv you are a gem, wish I could be there with you.
Things are not too good at the moment, more friends popped their clogs, has anyone got any good news???? I could do with some joy in my life, who knows what tomorrow will bring
Been trying to clear out years of clutter from the attic, takes a lot of time as I tend to read every letter etc.
Love to all

It's a very lengthy search - it's so kind of you to do it but I really feel it will take much longer than you think!

In the first half of 1948 the Weymouth theatre put on a production called

Gaslight............. :-D

Did all of 1948 and the second half of 1947 today of the Echo with help from R ,my lovely DI.L.....Found a story about a lady called Jane age 105...But she was from Weymouth and still alive at time of article.

I go back tomorrow on my own to do more...Didnt get there till 1pm today as I had to take Mr H to dentist first but will get in earlier tomorrow..

They threw me out today at closing time..But I marked my place ;-)

And Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeesh...They say crime/murder and worse are rife today...Some of what we read through made your hair wanna stand up...That was some of the prob...We got engrossed in other stuff at times....

Hello All,
Sorry Viv I dont remember the dates, not much help am I ?
I doubt that a birth cert. would have been needed for Diane and my dads marriage as both were over 21, I could be wrong.
I must remember not to be too soft with Viv wont I Cynthia, but I find that hard as she has been so kind to me as have you and lots of others on this thread, I love you all and feel like you are my family.
Viv I hope Ishbel is being good if not you had better send her to me.
Love to all
Evelyn X

wisechild Report 21 Sep 2012 12:27

Just a silly question.
Would Whateverernameis have had to produce a birth certificate or any other proof of age/parentage etc when she married Evelyn´s Dad.?
I know that Evelyn doesn´t have the cert, but it would help to prove that one existed at the time.
Just our luck for it not to have been required.

Fans?

Somewhere on this thread, IF one had bothered to keep up to date with it of course, one would have found that I knew it was the Dorset History centre where the newspaper fiche could be found as I had been in touch with them. They said it was too wide a search of date for them to undertake the search themselves so I asked ages ago if anyone was going that way.

Sheeeeeeesh....can't get the staff these days. At least it will keep you out of mischief for a while :-P

Tell your son that he would be helping a lovely elderly lady - naturally, I mean Evelyn, not you - although you ARE elderly.

Evelyn? For heaven's sake, don't hug Fans........she works much better when we're horrid! ;-)

Glad you're okay but you must be worried about your brother. Take care and, hopefully, we will be able to stop knocking our heads against those brickwalls soon. <3
