Evelyn, do you know the number of the house in Dafforne Road? It should be on your birth cert if you were born there.

As far as I know my mother (Diane Macleod) did not read music she played the piano by ear, so I doubt that she was taught by Evelyn GF.
Obviously I must have met EGF but have no memories of her, I wonder where she was living in 1932 when I was born, just a thought maybe my parents rented rooms from her. I think I was born at an address in Dafforne Road, Tooting or Balham, London
Love to all

Hi Renes, yes I've seen that on google. In fact, there are several references to various members of the Goddard-Fenwicks and some of them have been followed up but to no avail sadly.

There's just GOT to be a link here somewhere.

I have that marriage cert in my file Jan.....Not the right father or age or second name which is Adasylla, and been followed up even so due to the Fenwick connection.

I have a thread on here about it somewhere....Cyn knows where I put it I think.. :-D

Cant remember if I have seen that Renes...I lose track of what I have seen and what I have at times...

But that is Evelyns godmother...

Yes I was named after my godmother, my fathers mother told me that.
It upset grandma as she wanted me to be called Emily

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 22 Jul 2011 11:22

That's good to hear Evelyn.

Somehow, somewhere, the Fenwicks and MacLeods are linked but it is like doing a jigsaw puzzle which consists of a picture of baked beans!

I do wonder if you are named after EGF though and, as your mother was able to play the piano, I suppose it is possible that EGF was her teacher at some stage.

Back to the baked bean scenario :-S

Ron had more chemo yesterday and so far so good.
The more I read this thread the more confused I become, why couldnt I have a normal family.
I wonder if Evelyn Goddard Fenwick was related to me as well as being my godmother.

If this were not Evelyns thread Cynthia YOU would be getting my special wave..!

Kathy....Just to say that only English certs have been sent for...Barabels death..Which held no clues as her father was the informant and a marriage that we thought may be Jean Anabelle Macleod but was not her.

Although it gives her ,her husband Mr Fenwick,Barabel and Evelyns godmother Goddard -Fenwick and Diane all links to the same sort of area of Scotland and the West country and Channel Islands.

Jean Annabelle Macleod 1888 is the missing one here and no amount of searching has so far turned up anything after 1901 for her.

Evelyn

We are all here for you and trying in our own way to find the answer.Don't give up hope.

Please nobody spend money on certificates or SP as I am at the register office every other week and can do look ups .I help out at my local Family History Society and am part of the research group who helps our members living too far to do their own research . As such I do some time find that I have a few minutes to do other research .

Evelyn my prayers to you and your husband

At the moment I really could do with some good news, how wonderful it would be if Diane could be found.
Thank you to everyone that has put such a lot of effort in to searching for her.
My love to you all
