I sent an e-mail enquiry to the Western Isles Library about school records for Diana Ishbel and Donald this is the reply I had

Hello

Thank you for your enquiry. I think the best thing to do is to wait until the 1911 census is released on 5 April to search for this family. The names Donald, Ishbel and Kate are too common to be able to identify the family from the 1901 census. Diane would have gone to the Nicolson Institute for her secondary education but unfortunately there are no records for that period 1918-24. Do you have any information on her father Robert Macleod, just in case he’s mentioned in the Roll of Honour for World War 1?

The census records will be available on this website http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/

Credit ready and waiting on Scotlands people...Finger poised.....If she is not there I will have to admit defeat and wait for you to pop your clogs and come tell me in a dream that you have "talked"the answers out of her Ev...;)

So I sincerely hope we find her cos I dont want to wait 20 years or more longer for the answer any more than you do..!

Viv its a good job I have an upper denture and cant manage the biting anymore or I would have no nails left.
I wonder if she will be found and if so will she be with the Macleods that you first thought were the right family X
