You have her marriage cert, but you don't know her fathers name?

He should be named on her marriage cert?

This is the only birth around that time for a Florence without a middle name:-

Name: Florence Berrisford
Year of Registration: 1892
Quarter of Registration: Apr-May-Jun
District: Bradford
County: Yorkshire - West Riding, West Yorkshire
Volume: 9b
Page: 47

You could order the certificate but give her father's name as a reference checking point so you only get it if the father's name is right.

Ha you have just read my mind, I think she was lying about her age, and I have just said exactly the same to my aunt.
it wouldnt surprise me tracey

leesle

leesle Report 21 Aug 2008 15:12

oh no but the marriage cert I have is dated 1913 so she would have only be 13 years of age.
what reasons would someone not be on a census I wonder maybe they were out of the country

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 21 Aug 2008 15:12

They were either not here or mistranscribed...

Tracey

leesle

leesle Report 21 Aug 2008 15:14

so many ways to spell berrisford isnt there, maybe it was mistranscribed. thanks for giving it a go

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 21 Aug 2008 15:33

You might have a problem if this is her father...

Deaths Mar 1898
Berrisford John 40 Salford 8d 70

This John never made the 1901 census.... you will need to order the birth cert to see her mothers name.

Tracey

leesle

leesle Report 21 Aug 2008 15:35

that could be it, the only birth cert for me to order is the yorkshire one, and see if her father is John, there doesnt seem to be any others

leesle

leesle Report 21 Aug 2008 15:38

maybe she was brought up in the workhouse in warrington

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 21 Aug 2008 15:43

.....or her mother remarried and she's listed under the new married name?
