John Atkinson, b about 1850, Yorkshire

I'm trying to find any details on John Atkinson, born about 1850, probably in the Huddersfield area. He married Sarah & had 3 children: Annie b1873 Normanton, William b1875 Lockwood and Albert b1877 Lockwood. He must have died soon after Albert was born as Sarah re-married Charles Bell in 1880 in Huddersfield and had 3 more children to him (Emma, Harry & Ernest).

I have no more information on him or a birth date (so have just guessed it will be about 1850) and there are so many John Atkinsons in the area that it's impossible to know which one is the right one. There are no further details about him on Albert's marriage certificate & there were several Alberts born in 1877 so we're not sure which is his birth record to get a birth certificate.

Can anyone help?

You're best bet would be the get his M/C as that will give you his age, dads name & occupation...Then you'll be able to pick him up on the census

Births Mar 1881 (>99%)
BELL Emma Huddersfield 9a 319

This birth cert would give you sarah,s maiden name so that you could marry her and john Atkinson off to get his marrige cert.

Thanks for the tips.

Normanton & Lockwood are both Yorkshire. Lockwood is Huddersfield and Normanton is nearer Wakefield.
