Find Ancestors

Trying to find relatives of John Ashley Evans b 1900 Birmingham. I know he married Marrgery Ivy Veronica Maggs b 1905 Welshpool Montgomery in 1923 Forden Montgomery.

Can anyone help??

Could be if it was a spelling mistake.

i had a look at the orginal and it does say astley so they could of typed it in wrong, but this is the only john evans in birmingham 1902

How did he get to be in welshpool then as on 1901 I find a John A Evans born Birmingham age 4 months old living with mother Lizzie A Evans age 31 at 10 Union Street Welshpool but I can't find anything else.

No details for his father.

My grandfather Alfred Roy remembers his father living a 10 union street but can't remember if his mother was single or not.

neither can I that why I need help as none of my family have and birth, marriage or death certificates for any of them.

Possibly no father's name would be on the cert. then ,but it MIGHT give other family names if any were witness to the marriage.

how do you know when margery maggs was born?

if she came from ireland or scotland then she will be hard to trace

also was it lizzie or elizabeth?

you have johns birth details his father will only be on there if his mum put him on there bit unlikely, but if john traced his father then he will be on his marriagre cert which you will need for margerys fathers details.

you have the numbers for both of them now.

Cool will try get hold of his Marriage Certificate then.

Any chance you could help a little with my other Great Grandfather Benjamin George Gittins born 1906 Welshpool as I only know he married Catherine Evans. I have asked my family but they don't know anything about them.

in them days it was a big sin to have children out of wedlock so oftern they were sent away to friends or other family to have the child and then come back

We worked out that her year of birth was 1905 as on her grave stone it says she died 16/10/1954 age 49

Your guess is as good as mine to how john born birmingham came to be in welshpool. but he did.
Thought he was born out of wedlock.

if you get there cert it will be easier to find them as there inbetween before 1901 we can pick them up on the census and after 1911 we have the mothers mmn so its easy to find a marriage between parents and then pick them up on the census
