Can anyone take a look at the 1861, census please & find:
Jane Hampstead c1860 Huntingdon, Cambs

particularly interested in finding details of her parents & siblings.
She later married a Thomas Fowkes from Leicester & moved there. I can find her 1st son Harry born 1881 - but cant see him later - can anyone find out if he died please (between 1881-1891)?

Do you have her father's name and occupation from her marraige cert?

Sorry - havent got the cert yet.

Only found out about her recently through a connection with a 'relative' who had Thomas Fowkes in their tree and the info about his marriage to Jane.

I see that in 1881 her father is lodging n a public house where his son George is a servant.
In 1881 Jane is in Pasture Lane, Leicester. with Thomas Fowkes 20-shoe hand, (Jane 22), & son Harry 1.

Wonder how she came to be in Leicester??

ps I notice 1861 a Henry aged 1 and he is not in the 1871 census??

I think the only certain link is through the cert, which I presume is below. I also notice the absence of Heny in 1871 and will look for him

In 1871, the family are not showing Harry in their household - perhaps because he is in hospital.
1871: Harry aged 12 in hospital - do we know why? - born 1859/60 - same year as Jane - or a year apart! Are they twins??? Can we find their birth registrations?

Jane calls her 1st born son Harry.

Henry/Harry's birth but I can't see Jane's Birth - If it is the right Jane she is listed as 2 years older than Henry/Harry in 1861. I don't think they are twins. It doesn't list Henry's illness in 1871

I can't find Jane Hempstead/Hempstead's birth but Jane's mother's maiden name was Pryor and she married in 1858. I wonder if Jane was born before they married as below? Just a thought
