I'm trying to find the mother & father of John Thomas Wells & Harriett Allen Wells nee Wood.
They are on the 1901 census. Estimated birth year for John abt 1857 age 44. Harriett Allen Wells (nee Wood) 42 yrs. They had 7 children;

I don't have any birth place for Harriett.

Looking at the original of that 1901 census, I believe the name could possibly be Harriett not Florrie H. The H looks like FL. Although comparing it with other H's on the page I'm doubtful.

I think you are right it does look like Florrie H. But when you study it a bit more you can see its Harriett.

BVRI is British Vital Record Index, a set of 16 cd's that I purchased many years ago. They're extracted from parish records so quite reliable.

Hi Margaret can anyone purchase the BVRI, and is it expensive?

I have just received the birth certificate for William Allen WELLS. His mothers name is Harriett Allen nee WOODS. I thought it was WOOD not WOODS.
Residence of informant Walcot Dales. Is there any way of finding the real full address of a family?

I purchased my BVRI many years ago and can't remember what it cost but I remember marvelling at how cheap it was for 16 cd's. It used to be available through the Familysearch website but I have been told that it's no longer for sale and the records are now available on Worldwide Ancestry. I stand to be corrected on that.

The address on the 1891 census is just:
Village, North Kyme, Sleaford, Lincolnshire,
It's 4 houses away from "The Plough" pub.
The children were all born Walcot Dales except for last one, Maude Marion born Dogdyke.

Thanks Margaret for your help. I am thinking of joining the Ancestry.com site. I'm waiting until I get another offer in my emails. When I get time I am going to visit that area to have a scout round where part of my family started.
I hope one day to be as good as you are at researching family, also to know where to start looking. I think with my reaconning (excuse the spelling, a mental block) it might take me a hundred years and some lol...
