Were your Johnson ancestors crew on John Franklin's ill fated expedition to find the North-west passage? If so I would be interested in any information you may have regarding this. I understand that there was a William Johnson aged 45, and a Thomas Johnson aged 28, both Petty Officers, Thomas was also Boatswain's Mate, and a Charles Johnson aged 28, Able seaman. They were all crew on the H.M.S Terror. I have been told that my great grand mother Frances Ellen Johnson's family, particularly her grand father Philip Johnson, had a connection with the expedition but have yet to find a Philip listed as crew. I would be grateful for any information. |
