blimey, i know holt is to say the least the early version of smith or jones but if any one can help i'm looking for info on florence holt who married albert kerry in derby and they had a son raymond.
florences mum was sarah ellen holt from hayfield and was my grandfathers half sister.

Raymond was born in 1924 and died last year, i believe his mom was born around 1901/2/3. as to Albert i'm not sure and cannot find the marriage record although it stated they were married on the birth cert as i have it. xx

I have my great grandmother's birth cert. (l858) and although it gives her mother's "married name" and maiden name, her parents were not married until two years later.

Yes I know, but it's the next step - unless census is 100% certain, you will need that marriage cert to confirm father's name - unless you know it of course!

How do we know how old she was? There are no other marriages which fit (I think!)

Colette, I'm not trying to be difficult - you are probably correct - ,just asking how you know. Do you have any actual evidence or is it just verbal info? I only ask because this can be way out, as I know only too well with my own family!

janet the marriage list was from here in dec 1913. but its too early needs to be 1922 ish and i've been working this solidly for nearly a week to link holts with kerrys with garratts and its driving me crazy xx

its all fraser and frasers fault they contacted my mum and she has driven me round the bend to find out who left what to whom. xx

Do you have proof of Florences birhtdate and birthplace? Do you need the info concerning her mother or just Florence?

birth place i believe is hayfield or stalybridge. her mum sarah ellen was definitely born 1885 she is my great gran who had florence before she was married to my great grandad if that makes sense. so we never knew of her til 2 weeks ago and have worked hard to get info but cannot find dates. albert is on the birth cert of her son which i have and the death cert i have but i want to try and get as much info on my tree as i can xx

I know you are fed up with me Colette, but I agree with you - there really is no marriage to be found as far as I can see, either on freebmd or ancestry, if you are certain she was born 1900 or so. I can see Ann is asking the same question as me about her birth year.

LOL janet i am not fed up with you at all, i'm so frustrated at going round and round in circles. On raymonds birth cert it says florence kerry formerly holt which says they got married, and raymond was born in 1924 and albert kerry is the father. I have the census's printed off as far as poss but there is no actual record of florences existance ( unless i buy another 300 credits lol to trawl every quarter of each year) xx
