can anyone help me please im try to find litollis but that may be spelt different i know he changed hes name to ward and he was living in carlise in the 1850s i would really like to know hes first name or just any info pos please

what else do you know about him - would imagine you know more than you have put here - every little helps

the story we know is that he was french or italian

where did you get his name from,can you give us a starting point please

and also we think he married some one called elizabeth dont know if that was her first or second name

as Shirley says you must know more - you didnlt just pick his name out of the air

hes daughter was living in carlisle and her name was mary ward but we where told her dad ward had hes name changed and became a british national and before he was a ward hes name was litollis hope this can help you

when was the daughter born ? what census have you found the family on ?

hes daughter was mary ward born 1885 in carlise she married richard gardiner i have not found he parents on a cencus form as i dont know who they are its just my mum has given me this info as mary was her grandmother and we are try to find out if the story is right about her father being called litollis and then changed hes name to ward as we are doing the family tree please can you help us

her marriage cert to Richard Gardiner should name her father plus her birth cert will name her parents
If you havent got any certs then i would start with the marriage cert

The name you have is most likely spelt 'Lytollis'. How do you know he was in Carlise in the 1850's?

Do you have his first name/age or parents....in fact anything else that might help
