I found Mary's death 1896 she had been married before to Daniel Mckeown....parents were John and Ann ms looks to be McGeechie
also found the marriage cert for John and Mary 31/12/1889 Mary was listed under her first married name McKeown.......which explains why I couldn't find births for Patrick and Elizabeth.....the weren't McKinnies they were McKeowns

To find the Margaret / MAry Ann's parents you need to look on Scotlandspeople for her marriage to John. He was Scottish and the children were born in Scotland so the marriage most likely took place in Scotland. Elizabeth's birth certificate (again from Scotlandspeople) will tell you the date and place of her parents marriage.

When searching for the marriage put the surname for John in as McKinn* to allow for the different spellings. Just put Boyle in for the bride's surname as it could be either Margaret or Mary Ann. From the census records you can see that the first child, Patrick was born about 1883 so you are looking for a marriage (hopefully) before then.

Could anyone give me some information on margaret (mary ann) boyle mentioned here would be grateful and any more information on the mcarthurs living in torwood and clackmannan

I think you are correct, I had the wrong McArthur census but the correct McKinney. I think that the John Boyle boarding with them is possibly Margaret (Mary Ann)'s brother or at least a relative.

I found John McArthur and brother George birth certs on Scotland'sPeople

They were born at Spring Vale Cottage by Denny at 7am and 9am respectively
Parents married 07/06/1907 at Longriggend......so just in time for the births

It could be that the records will show that john mcarthur was born in either old plean or denny not sure how the districts were named in those days
