I've been going through the marriages in 1905 trying to find the missing spouse but I can't find the right one so I'm giving up with that idea now.

There is a death in 1904 for a Peter Pazzal - I wonder if this is an 'english' version of Paulo???

Deaths Mar 1904
PAZZAL Peter 44 S. Shields 10a 536

There is also a marriage for a Charlotte the following year which 'could' be her but I can't trace the couple on 1911?

DIXON James Embleton Sunderland.10a 1095 2 1905
PAZZAL Charlotte Sunderland.10a 1095 2 1905

What do you think ?

Thanks Dea.
I hadn't spotted that because it is the parents I need to find to see if the births of the two Pazzal children belong to them. I know Blanche was here in 1911 because she married in the September quarter but there are no entries from then until Annie married Robert in 1914. and after that nothing. So they either left the country or they changed their name.

These Pazzall's are very elusive on 1911 aren't they?

You say you have found only Paulo so far but if you have him, you will note he is living with married sister Clementina

Right. Dog walked and exercise taken so back to the Pazzal family.
I haven't found any of them yet Tracey apart from Paolo who I assume to be Polo although he may of course, not be.
If this family were mine I would invest in the certs without question. I have hundreds for my lot and haven't finished yet (do we ever finish?). But it is for a friend of my partners who is the grandson of Robert Noble Junior. I have no doubt in my mind that he is the son of Robert Senior and Annie Pazzal especially as he more or less verified it by naming one of his daughters after her but I would like to find her earlier on in her life as either Annie Clarey or Annie Brown and find out exactly who she was so I can take this line back further on both sides and, of course, to satisfy my curioisty!

Off to the local Welcoming Inn for a while.
They phoned yesterday to see if we were still alive as we have not been seen for so long apparently.

Now that is what I call care in the community.:))

Have fun all ~~~~~~~~

I agree, buying many certs for a project is expensive, esp when you have so many ends to tie up.

I am currently in the process of trying to find my OH GGmother we know after when she died, but not the actual year, so i am now ordering 4 certs a month with her name and rough age trying to find her....i shall however win this game, but it's most def a very long road.

How far have you got with finding all the Pazzal people on the 1911 census?

I think before I invest any more money into this I need to find the rest of the Pazall Family in 1911 as the births may well belong to one or more of them. The don't appear to be there so I'm wondering if they have slipped across the border to Scotland for work maybe. I have to go out for an hour but I will take another look when I get back.

If you ordered the marriage cert you will be able to compare it to the one with Annie and see if his father is the same.

If one assumes she left not long after the birth of 'Bart' then this would be right for 10 years apart.

She can claim abandonment and assume her husband was dead, and free to remarry?

Or heard that Paulo had died and could marry as a widow.

WayneTracey

WayneTracey Report 20 Jun 2010 14:08

Do we have a death for Paulo?

Divorce would have been nigh on impossible back then, so maybe she took up with Robert had children with him while living there (remembering there were only 2 rooms!) and then decided to mary after a period of time, she'd technically have been seperated long enough to be able to remarry under the abandonment rules? (10 years i think)

To prevent his father finding and taking him?
In those days Fathers had TOTAL rights, not mother

Those 2 births are what I personally would invest in...

John C I am not sure about because he is stated as 6 months old on the 1911 and there are several births for John Metcalf(e)s around the right time.
I found the Ralph Nathaniel birth and did wonder if he could be Bartholomew. But why change his name?
EDIT: As you say to prevent him being found.
