Find Ancestors

trying to find the whereabouts of my half brothers.
My father: GEORGE HERBERT MEWNEY NEADS, was married before he met my mother, and fathered i believe 2 boys.
my mother passed away 5 years ago and i have not seen my dad since i was 16 and have learnt that he too has passed away.

my mother and father split when i was 5 and i was brought up in care so have never had the opportunity to get some questions answered or to meet them.

all i know is they may be now around the 40's mark as i am 31.
they were living in Polegate or Eastbourne, East Sussex uk.
any news of where i may be able to find them would great.
have tried the friends reunite for possible schools, but noone with this surname, so may have changed names.

also would like clarification on dads age at death and when he passed away, if anyone can help with that.

might the one of the same with the marriage, death is definately him.
i am unable to find a trace of him marrying my mother, although my aunt said they did just before i was born in june of 1976

i dont mean to be a pain, but seeing as you have the means, are you able to tell how many times my dad married.

can only find the two i see, do you know when he split up with your mum?

they split when i was 5 so probably got divorced around then too which would be 1980 ish.

i know he had 2 sons in the local area, so i somehow need to find a births register as he should have been registered as there dad.
he was registered as mine as far as i know.
this is so hard when parents have passed on and only getting snippets from other family members who arent too sure of facts.
all i have to go on is date of birth and death.

What about starting off getting your dad's death certificate, its usually signed by a family member

i have sent for it, but already know that he was in nursing home, and when i phoned BDM office in lewes they asked me for my surname and couldnt tell me who signed it but could tell me it wasnt a family member.
the children he had before me he never saw, and dont know if he ever re married after mum

cannot find any other marriage entries from 1980-2000 so dont think he married again

found another marriage entry for a possible child of his though

and there were no other possible marriages before my birth in 1976?

aunt must have been wrong in the 2 boys then... will do a seach on those names you gave me and see what happens.
