hi im looking for Emma Elizabeth Restell born 29/4/1869 Stepney/Mile end
details i know are
1890 49 white horse Lane (birth of son Charles william Andrew ) Fathers name John Salter Andrew,
1891 Census 57 Knott st Mile End EMILY,
1892 23 Repton St (birth of Daughter Mary Ann Andrew)father John Salter Andrew ,
1896 98 Ernest St Mile End (birth of son John Charles Steptoe) father John Charles Steptoe,
I cannot find her or either of the john Steptoes on the 1901 census or in the 1911 census
i know john steptoe snr died aug 1911 and that Emma was not living with them family story is that she returned to John salter Andrew but he is not with her in 1911 census any info to help with this mystery would be great

John charles Steptoe born 1896 is her son
have birth cert and knew him personally
John Charles Steptoe snr was supposidly her second husband as she is listed as Emma Elizabeth Steptoe on sons birth cert formerly Restell
same as on two other children listed as Emma Elizabeth Andrew formerly Restell but no marriages to be found to either one ?? Andrew or Steptoe

Sorry looked it up to be sure " Dock Labourer " he died at the docks in Aug 1911 something fell on him and Killed him
his D O B is 15/9/1870 Poplar

You say this is them on 1891?Who is your ancestor from Emma please?What I mean is how did you get to Emma?

so followed his family and my Great Grandad Charles William I took to be the Charles Son 10 m born Stepney and Emma being Emily ???

just 1901 he is missing along with the rest of them although his sister Mary Ann /AKA Lily is living with her father in 1901 ???
not sure why maybe she didnt like Step father John Charles Steptoe and have her in 1911 48 Falkirk St as Lilian Biggs she was not actually married until 12/11/1911 and gives fathers name as John Salter Andrews

Yes that is correct when John Steptoe died in 1911 his son John went to live with Charles & Sophie Andrew
as he was only 15 I suppose he met his future wife as they would have seen alot of each other

Well I cant find any of the Steptoes in 1911 or 1901 nor can I find Emma...
Nor can I find Emma before 1891 if that is her on 1891...

Nor can I find a birth for that name or date on ...freebmd for Emma Elizabeth.
