Horace James Rutherford was the father's name on childrens birth certificates:

1. Horace Edward Lurring Rutherford was born 1903 at Toxteth Park, Liverpool. Horace married Blodwin Pring Roberts in 1928 at Birkenhead.
2. Frank Samuel Rutherford born 1905 Wallasey
3. Beatrice Emma Rutherford born 1907 Wallasey (father's name on certificate James Henry .Rutherford) Beatrice emigrated to Australia in 1926.

I can only find one Horace James Rutherford born in 1879 at Croydon but this would make him only 21 when he married Annie who would have been 7 years older.

Annie Louise Lurring was born in 1872 at Islington, Middlesex. Parents were Samuel and Martha (Everitt)

Annie Married James Thomas Everitt inh 1897 at West Ham.
Apparently James died around 1900. The 1901 Census shows Annie working as a Laundress in that area and boarding at a residence.

Can find no marriage between Annie and Horace.

The 1911 Census has no mention of Horace but only of Annie and the children living in Liscard, Cheshire.

In 1917 Annie married James Jones and lived in Tranmere in the Birkenhead District. The marriage certificate shows that she married under the name Annie Everitt and was a widow.

Annie died in 1948.

If she married under the name Everitt it would seem that she never married Horace

I have asked Thomas for the occupation of the Father(s) on the birth certificates and asked him to return to this thread.

My thoughts exactly Jax and i did point that out to Thomas in my reply.

She was still married in 1901 so perhaps she could not marry Horace?

Do you have any other details on James Everitt?

Thank you all for your trouble.

I found a death of a James Everitt aged 43 in 1900 in Essex but his birth is different by a couple of years to what is on the marriage certificate which says that in 1897 he was 37 years of age.

Horace is listed on the certificates as being an Engine Fitter.

Sorry that I have no more information.

I did find a Horace Rutherford who was noted as fitter on the census yesterday. Let me take another look.

No it wasn't Horace it was James H but i couldn't find him after 1891
