Still looking, I am checking under both Pattison and Patterson but sadly as the electoral role on the index for NSW doesnt start until 1930 it is too late to find him with his mother. Also there is no census for NSW available for this time which doesnt help either. I will PM you all the Robert Pattison/Patterson's tomorrow as chances are he is one of them I just dont know which!

wow thankyou the two middle names explains why she has different details in records sarah's maiden name was ROGERS i have her down as being born 1900 from my grandfathers birth certificate, i have found records that indicate she was registered in/or born 1902 though, when researching sarah though you will see alot of the records have her as either sarah ann rogers or sarah jane rogers not the sarah ann jane rogers she was born in marradong which in the pioneers index is the district of murray river if that helps.
i have the wa pioneers index 1841-1905 and that indicates to me that her parents were:
MARY ANN FLETCHER(maiden name) GUTTRY(first marriage name)
the pioneers record states that the first marriage was to George guttry children of first marriage Frank 1882, Ellen 1884 & John Thomas 1888-1889. all born in williams bridge.

& WILLIAM ROGERS i also found a second child to these two william george owen rogers b1895, williams river, wa. If the census records confirm any of this it would be great news.

so edward shaw (b.melbourne?) is the thomas's fathers name?, was he living with them? if so i have him married to a jessie mcclure b.glasgow but i have never got for a fact that they were thomas's actual parents because there always seems to be 2 possibilities for names im searching for, i think you may have really opened up a few branches for me here :)

Sorry cant find them in the earlier census. One the marriage cert does it say what Sarah's maiden name is? Also it should provide their parents names. I cannot search for Sarah's parents unless you can tell me her maiden name let m know if you have those details. Hope this helps.

hi danielle, i would love it if you have any information on a couple of people thomas shaw b.1986 victoria, australia married sarah ann or jane b marradong, western australia, (misprinted on childs birth certificate or marriage certificate) marriage is at 22/04/1922 in perth australia. i would love it if you could find her parents in particular. If you find his actual parents its a bonus... they had children george b.1922, mary b.1924, jessie b1926, chrissie b.1928, teddy b1930, shirley b1933, and peter b1940 thats who i know of they were all born in western australia that i know of

Sorry it is going to be difficult to locate your Robert, as there are several Robert Pattison/Patterson's in NSW. I think Cardiff is near Newcastle. I will have anothe look in the morning. In the mean time have you see this service record from the National Archives site.

I couldnt find any match on the electoral role, I searched there are hundreds of William Chapmans, only 1 Augusta Chapman in NSW. Have you searched the Ryerson Index (http://ryerson.arkangles.com/notices.php) as there is a William James Chapman that died in 1974 in Mascot age 76 and also a Augusta Chapman who died in Maroubra (not far from Mascot) in 1976.

There are hundreds of George and Eliza/Elizabeth Taylor's I'm afraid. The latest role is for 1936 which is too early for Lily to be on it and I couldnt find John Horace Joyce/Taylor either so I wonder if they arrived after 1936.
