I found that Death Cert can give more verifying details e.g.
Living Children names and ages, age at death, where born, spouse if survived, where born etc then go to appropriate Census records.
Have you got your "Tree" on GR started with yourself first and as much as is known by living relatives.

Can't find a Henry Barclay on the 1881 census...so you need marriage certificate to go backwards.

James, i am not sure if the name was re-used, i dont really know what that means, however Pam has found a William, and the aunty remembers 1 boy and 2 girls, however, i cannot put 2+2 together as i have made that mistake on the Barclay side before. just a case of ordering the certs to have the proof.

Pam, you are good at this! Just off to order cert, think when i have that, as you say, can get checking, aunty was def out with years and dates but not bad for nearly 80. will also do some checking on william, he does seem to exist!

It is a nightmare with births after 1901 until 1911 as there is no way of checking without buying a birth certificate.

He was one of my possibles, the other i found was william james, born west ham, they were all from that area so again didnt want to go down the wrong path! think the aunty has got the right names and the wrong dates .... thanks for your help pam

I would be almost certain that Kate's surname was Green. You need to buy the marriage certificate as this will give you their father's names and then you will know you have the right people.
