Angela

Angela Report 14 May 2008 19:43

This is great - thankyou very much....looks like the William Burdett on the 1871 census is Rosannah's brother then

Eames

Eames Report 14 May 2008 19:27

Angela.. Seems that Rosannah's maiden name was Burdett as there's a marriage for William Wilson to Rosannah Burdett 1846 in Birmingham. Found James (as in 71) birth, his parents was William and Rosannah - its there on IGI

Angela

Angela Report 14 May 2008 18:53

Could be....but i wonder who Edwards mother was as Rosannah was to old at 53, maybe james wilson harriet's brother married and his wife died leaving edward to be brought up by harriet and Rosannah

Angela Report 14 May 2008 18:33

i wonder if i could be even more cheeky and ask if you could do a 1841 or 1851 census look up for Rosannah Wilson born 1823 to see if she had a son called Edward please

Angela

Angela Report 14 May 2008 18:30

i supose coventry isn't that far from Birmingham and could be a good match

Angela

Angela Report 14 May 2008 18:29

On 1881 census - Dudley hands who is listed as harriet wilson's uncle on 1901 census is married to a harriet Hands Dressmaker with no children....perhaps just a coincedence and not a mistake

Eames Report 14 May 2008 17:54

She did state that she was a widow in 1901, I've re-checked the image

Angela

Angela Report 14 May 2008 17:51

Maybe......it's a hard one...it would make sense harriet being single as she seems to only have one child..or that could be that if she was married he died early after Edwards birth ...don't know?

Eames

Eames Report 14 May 2008 17:46

Unless Transcriber thought Harriet was Edward's mother and Harriet was his aunt? Clutching straws here.. lol
