It shouldn't need the exact date, just the quarter, year, district, volume and reference. Here is an example (my great grandparents)

Marriages Mar 1902 (>99%)

New Amy Amelia St. Olave 1d 365
Poole David George St. Olave 1d 365

So they married during January, February and March in 1902. St Olave is the district, 1d is the Volume and 365 is the page number.

re: robert warren.i have the marriage cert,checked his dob against it 1877.his fathers name was samuel,he had died by the time they got married.iv gone through thousands of robert warrens on the free trial on ancestry .co.uk,nothing.tried census,samuels birth est 1850sh.dont suppose you can see what you can come up with,or direct me into how i can find it. thanks pam

There is this possible birth, the year is slightly out.

There is this family in 1881 but they are in Lincoln. I don't know how far that is from Norwich/Norfolk.

Pam are there any clues with the witnesses on the marriage cert i.e. brothers sisters etc?

Also, does it give Samuel and Robert's professions
