My dad John Henry Morrow b.1911 d.1969 came from Newtownards his mother was Agnes Martha Coulter and his father Thomas Morrow (according to my mum and dads marriage cert).....He lost connections with his family when he married so we never got to meet his side of family at all..

There are no records of him in Births,Deaths and Marriages office having been born and also tried the churches in Newtownards! And public records office!

Any othe suggestions? Thankyou!

Sorry everyone for not replying sooner! apologies!

The only thing i am def sure about is my dads death i was there..He died in Belfast 12/12/1969

Another thing im sure of is his marriage to my mum Brigid Taggart in 1943 and he states the names of his parents as Thomas and Agnes Martha Morrow nee Coulter from Newtownards!

He always claimed he was born in Newtownards and he showed us a primary school he went to in Millisle but their records got burnt during the war!

I just cant find a birth cert of him anywhere in N.I.

Hi Patricia,

Northern Ireland BMD's can be looked up in Dublin up til 1920/22 True birth certs can be bought there but only photocopies of Marraige and death certs, the true copies have to be gotten from the County that the marraige or Death took place in, also if a marraige took place between a Catholic and None Catholic even if in Dublin the true cert has to be sent to Count Roscomman for as Dublin only hold B.M.D. of people born, married or died in Dublin up til 190/22 after that all certs for the 6 Counties of Northern Ireland went to Belfast the other Counties stayed in Southern Ireland.
Regards,
Betty.

Hi Patricia,
i am so very sorry for not answering sooner but my computer was on the blink, still a bit shaky.

Iwas in town to-day and yesterday but the only thing that i can find at the moment re; register is a marraige for a James Morrow to a Agnes Warmack Coulter on the 7th Jan. 1898 Registers District of Newtownsard, Marraige solemnized at Ballycopeland in the parish of Donaghade in the County of Down.
I will be back in to-morrow, will let you know if i find anything then, did not find a birth for John Henry Morrow for that date either.
Again i am sorry for not replying sooner, Patricia.
Regards,
Betty.
