HI Maggy nice offer could you possably look up two names for me Harold Eager born 1900 dird 1998 he became an RAF test pilot and the other is Thomas Henry W. Travers born 1915 wareham dorset he was in the raf but i don,t have any more info on him anythig you can find on either of these people would be great thankyou ....GARY....

My Step-Father William John Evans b 1923 Llandaff Cardiff was in the RAF around 1943. I believe he was a navigator but unsure if he got his wings he never talked about the war. I have a photo of him and would dearly love to know any info.

My great uncle is Cornelius Van Rossen (sometimes written Von Rossen) he died over Sicily age 23 in 1943. Would be lovely if you could find him for me. He was born in south shields, county durham, his parents were kate and johannes van (von) rossen, also living in south shields.

For everyone's information -

I work at St Clement Danes Church in central London which is the Central Church o the RAF.

We have 10 books recording all those who have died whilst in service (in the RAF or under the command of RAF). They start in 1912 with the Balloon Regiment/Corps.

Book 10 is the 'current/active' book for those who have passed away since WW2. It is nearly full.

The U.S. have their own book.

The public are allowed to visit and if they wish to, look up names.

They list name only. No rank or any other info I'm afraid. Occaisionally service number if 2 or more have the same name.

Thought I'd add this for info.

My grandfather was in the RAF. Master Pilot John Robert Yeasrley-Struthers 454773, he was in during the war and sign up for life afterwards, but then died in a plane crash. I think he may have been the pilot. I'm told nine people died. It was 4th Dec 1953. I would like to know more about it, but I don't know where to start.

I am looking for my great uncle Either as William or known to us as Bill Tyers b abt 1920 he was with the wireless operator unit Regiment 5A0S abt 1942. An Airgunner and wireless operator and was with squadrons 48, 524 and 51 think he was in the RAF until 1945.

Thank you for your very kind offer. I would like to know if it includes Ronald Merrick Jordan (Merrick being a middle name). He was a sergeant 1853154 flight engineer, 630 squadron Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died on 22 June 1944 aged 26. I know this from the CWGC Debt of Honour Register.

I have a Kenneth Rowland Ilsley, Dob 25/01/1922, in my Tree, he was a spitfire pilot, Whilst on a few hours leave in Malta, he was washed off a rock, his date of death was 03/03/1943.
Hes bured in (Capuccini) Naval Cemetary, Malta.
But any other info gratefully received :)

I'm looking for info on Russell Edward Tomlin who I believe was a tail gunner on a Lancaster bomber. He disappeared 19/7/43 possibly over the Channel. I have found his name on the Runnymead memorial. He was 22 and married less than a year.

The information of being a tail gunner on a Lancaster and disappearance over the channel are family hand downs so may not be correct. It would be great if you could confirm this.

If you can find any further info I would love to hear - such as if you have any details of his regiment and unit and squadron, the bare facts of which are below and also which airfield he was at:
