It wasn't such a problem in some areas if mum was pregnant when she got married. Sometimes it was acceptable because the groom needed to know that his wife would be able to bear children.

'Course sometimes it was because they were just being a bit "forward" !!

You'll probably find a few more in your tree too - don't worry about it!!

I would say that is your family..... remember in 1841 the enumerator wasn't as exact as they should have been about recording data and would often round up or down ages, by as much as 5 years!!!

Where can I get a marriage certificate for James Pomfret and Betty Leaver ? pretty please

You won;t be able to get their marriage cert as it's pre 1837 and cert didn't exist then.

If you live locally to Preston, you can visit the Records Office there and look at the parish records and see if it gives you any clues.

There might well be someone going there that can look for you.

Tracey , I live in the Scottish Borders , I could write to them in Preston ,ringing them is not good as I'm deaf .
