Tracey , I live in the Scottish Borders , I could write to them in Preston ,ringing them is not good as I'm deaf .

You won;t be able to get their marriage cert as it's pre 1837 and cert didn't exist then.

If you live locally to Preston, you can visit the Records Office there and look at the parish records and see if it gives you any clues.

There might well be someone going there that can look for you.

I would say that is your family..... remember in 1841 the enumerator wasn't as exact as they should have been about recording data and would often round up or down ages, by as much as 5 years!!!

It wasn't such a problem in some areas if mum was pregnant when she got married. Sometimes it was acceptable because the groom needed to know that his wife would be able to bear children.

'Course sometimes it was because they were just being a bit "forward" !!

You'll probably find a few more in your tree too - don't worry about it!!

Where did you find it ? it's not on lancashire BMD and GRO ,I went thru most of the years ..adding on 20years from James's birth 1811.

I do Have Elizabeth's birth certificate, I do not know when her parents got married, I have not yet got round to getting it.
