tried the site you gave but found it very confusing to use and so I will just have to be patient and wait for the certs int he hope it might give some idea of his place of birth then work from there. Thanks though for the link,it was just my inability.

It looks likely that Haakon was Norwegian/or norwegian descent. Any idea of how to try to find info from norway as to his birth etc ? hope someone can help please

I have found the death record for Haakon !!!
june Q 1983 DONCASTER vol.3 page 0485 and it gives his d.o.b too 30/9/1904.
will have to get the cert to find out where he was born hopefully.
thankyou all for your hard work for me it kept spurring me on too.I knew you could do it !! you`re brilliant.

James' birth was registered Mar quarter 1933.

No Haakon is Ann`s husband, James is their son. I had mistakenly put the year of birth that I had guessed at for James on this thread for Haakon.
