Job (Joab) Deacon married Kate Lawrence, Q4 1896, Dewsbury. In the 1901 census they are living in Hackney with their son William Frank Deacon c1900. The census has Job born in Trowbridge c1871, but I can find no trace of a birth record for Job Deacon there or then. |

If you bought their marriage certificate you would have his fathers name and occupation which would help you trace him in the earlier census. £7 using the GRO ref from GRO online. |

LOL, see that have the sons age as 81 in the 1901 transcription. |

Job(joab) would have been 15ish when married if he had been born in 1871. |

Southwick is very near to Trowbridge only a mile or so. |

Ann, the image says Trowbridge. I dont know how close that Southwick in 1891 would be. |

Me too, aren't you lot clever. |

Well, it was a fairly unusual first name Whippet so it was a case of checking all Jobs born in a time span. I think the fact he named his son William Frank and there are two brothers with him with those names was a good lead. |

Sorry for not responding before, I have had family to stay and I haven't been able to go on line, as the PC is in their bedroom!!Wow, there is certainly enough to be getting on with here!! Thank you all for your help and suggestions, I have sent for Jobs marriage certificate, so hopefully that will give me a lead, I am certain that one of the possible solutions given must be correct. His early life seems quite complicated, so it will be an interesting exercise. |
