If you google his full name (from the pm), there are several sites you can check.

So she did re-marry after Alfred died?

I am e-mailing around to see if anyone in Michigan knows if Alfred was related to a church..I am hoping to find a photograph of him somewhere.

I can't thank you enough Lisa, when I decided to try and trace Alfred this morning I did not expect to find all of this information on him.

You're quite welcome, Mandy. I have a one-track mind; I was focused on searching Ancestry; Margaret was the one who pointed out the google searches, so it's mainly because of her that we got so far. :)))

Wish we could find the Varney children, but I can't see anything. :(

I've found bits and pieces about my ancestors using google searches. You might want to think of key words and try searches for the Varneys as well. (I tried combinations that included his place of birth, occupation, places where they lived, wars he was in, cemeteries, etc.) I haven't found too much, so there's the possibility that you might find more.

I'm going to work on this one. The last thing I expected was to find him moving to America.
